Mitchells has been serving the trade since 1900 and the building centre in Station Road has been established since 1993.

The business grew out of a yard in Massetts Road selling plastic and timber, with a single employee. The business was such a success, it took over Peter Tyrell’s in 2004. Today, the site in Station Road, Horley has a team of 10 and is the area’s largest trade centre, selling thousands of product lines.

John Hill, Sales Manager, puts the success of the business down to its family values, helpful advice and personal service: “We really understand trade and building. Our team have been involved with materials and tools for many years. Our customers come to us for a wide range of supplies which are of the quality and performance they demand”.

The Trade professional can call the team to have their products ready to collect or deliver, and even access a monthly trade account to help spread their outlay.

Trade supply specials include rain water pipes, cement, boards, plaster, bulk bags, underground drainage pipes, trade paint and paint mixing service. You may not know this, but Mitchells has a warehouse at the back which has a huge range of timber which can be cut to size while you wait. There is also an area with large bulk bags of coloured garden stone chippings, aggregates and coloured UPVC fascia, soffits and rainwater goods.
