Model United Nations Society, University Of Buckingham Description

Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an extra-curricular activity in which students typically roleplay delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees. This activity takes place at MUN conferences, which is usually organized by a high school or college MUN society.

This society shall hold a United Nations style simulation on global and political issues where each student would participate as a delegate of their own country and will present their country's view point on that specific issue. The delegates will try to form a mutually agreed resolution which shall be uploaded on this page every month. The resolution passed shall also be forwarded to the UN youth parliament of the UK.

Debating is just at the tip of the ice berg; this society also aims to promote global harmony and will always try to promote different cultures present at the university of Buckingham; by holding various events such as 'GO GLOBAL' and 'GLOBAL VILLAGE' where each group of students could represent their own culture. As we beleive that a gist of globalization may come handy in today's competitive world.

The MUN society aims to train the university of Buckingham's students with the relevant skills of diplomacy and other relevant skills which are needed to excel in any MUN conference.

This society also aims to hold a mega Model United Nations conference at the University of Buckingham by the end of 2014.
