What a fantastic day we’ve just had at Moor Hall to celebrate my husbands birthday celebration. The food was plentiful and delicious and the service kind, considerate and attentive. Could not have been better looked after from planning to plate! thank you!!

User

Stayed last night with family, (there was 8 of us).

We booked for the spring party disco,3 course meal, disco, bed and breakfast, all for 109 pounds per couple.

Have to say it was definitely worth it,food was delicious, service was impeccable.

Rooms were decent size, clean, and had everything you needed.

Would recommend!

User

Myself and my husband stayed at this beautiful well presented traditional hotel and spa as a surprise for his Birthday last night .

staff were polite and very attentive, the room was clean and well presented , we had the 3 course Carvery and the breakfast in the Morning the only criticism i can make which can be rectified is the food was not hot enough not sure if it was the hot plates because the fresh pizza"s we had were perfect.

would we stay here again Yes in a heart beat PS the spa was great

User

I booked a spa stay over for my mom and me. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was in beautiful surroundings and our room was lovely and we could look out onto the gardens. We had booked a spa treatment and the staff there were also very friendly. It was excellent value for money and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Will definitely stay again

User

Having just visited and had an overnight stay (we did not use the spa facilities) I have to say that we really enjoyed our stay, I am a Coeliac and I can not fault the staff with the attention that I received with my food, I enjoyed all of the food that was made for me in the knowledge that I would not be ill,all of the staff were fantastic, we will go back for a week and away. THANK YOU

User

Brought my mother here today for her Mother's Day treat we came for the spa day, the hotel itself is stunning such a beautiful building and the staff there was amazing nothing was to much everyone we walked past was friendly and cheerful all dressed so smartly. We had breakfast and lunch and the food was brilliant it was actually a lot nicer than I was expecting the pool and the jacuzzi and all the other facilities was also lovely perfect temperature in the pool the quiet room was so quiet I fell asleep haha my treatment which was a facial was the perfect ending to our day we had treatments at the very end and it just topped off our whole day. We have already decided we are coming back and next time we're doing the over night stay to can't wait to come back thank you for such a pleasant day.

User

Attended my sister and brother in law's Golden Wedding celebration on Friday 2 March when weather was atrocious. Snow was unbelievable for time of year. We decided to stay overnight as we knew we weren't going to be able to get home as planned. Thanks to all the friendly and helpful staff who made our stay so pleasant and hassle free despite obviously struggling themselves with the weather. We had a fantastic stay and will return in the future and certainly recommend. Well done for being so efficient in trying circumstances.

User

Me and my friend had a lovely stay at the moor hall hotel last night, staff were really friendly and professional. The massage was really good and the lady was lovely. The food was also really nice, we just ate at the country kitchen and was quite basic options but was tasty. My only grumble would be that our room was so so hot and no air was coming in through the window at all! It was extremely uncomfortable to sleep in that heat and in the end I had to call reception at 430am and ask them to bring us a fan, the guy came within 5mins and we managed to get a couple more hours of sleep. It would of been nice if they had already supplied a fan especially with the heat. Apart from that it was a very pleasant stay and we will definitely be returning.

User

Just returned from a two night break, meeting a long term friend ... booked through secret escapes, convenient located being Midlands. Hotel pleasant, evening meal in the country kitchen was basic, however acceptable food, breakfast each morning was really lovely and all staff that we encountered were pleasant and friendly. We treated ourselves to a couple of large rubbard gins and tonic on the last night and quite frankly nearly choked at the £23.09 price tag !!! Silly money for 2 drinks, large or otherwise!! Other than that a pleasant stay ... thank you

User

Had a lovely overnight spa break with my daughter. We paid to upgrade to a superior room which although a little dated/old fashioned was very nice with a seating area and air conditioning. The bathroom was very modern. The meal was nice. Sitting on the patio looking over the golf course was lovely and when it went dark lots of twinkly lights came on. Breakfast was very good. All of the staff we came into contact with were very pleasant. It’s a beautiful hotel in a stunning location - just needs a little updating xx

User

Booked spa for myself&husband, the spa was clean, but the pool was quite cold.... We both had a back, shoulder & neck massage, which was fantastic!! Both therapists were very professional, welcoming&very friendly. The only complaint was waiting over 20mins for our welcoming coffee & nearly 40mins for my chocolate brownie for dessert at lunch time..... Both times I had to ask where they were.

Generally a lovely day&would definitely recommend to friends&family.

User

We went for the first time on the 29.8.18 for our best friends wedding. The wedding was wounderfull and the staff we friendly and helpful with the bride and groom. Also the staff who served our food and drinks at the wedding breakfast were friendly and polite. The only issue I have is the lack of lifts and the Wi-Fi was practically non exsistant but was not to bad downstairs although a lot of the guests said they couldn't get a signal anywhere. I'm particularly sighted so the green carpets, lack of a lift wasn't really that helpful to me. My friend and her new hubby had a great day and the room they used looked beautiful and the grounds did look very nice.

User

We had the Sunday carvery, starting with the self service salad - very nice. Sadly, and unfortunately for me I went for the Turkey and Pork. It was a disgrace! The turkey was the end of the joint and dry. When the lady carved the pork it was the start of the new joint and she apologised before she even carved onto it saying she knew it would be crumbly? I kinda thought it would be like pulled pork, but again dry. Usually staff ask if everything is ok but no one did. To be fair it was very busy with a lot of Birthdays, so I didn't cause a fuss. However, when paying the bill I told the waitress and she said she would tell the manager. No one came.

User

The spa staff were welcoming and took us to the restaurant for breakfast. Here we had our breakfast, booked lunch then proceeded to the spa which is clean and has a pleasant atmosphere. With the weather being so hot easy access to an dedicated outdoor lounge area would be a great additional facility. My only disappointment was during lunch pre booked for 12.30. We waited for over 15 minutes without even our drinks appearing. When we asked we were told they would look into it and 5 minutes later our drinks appeared. The member of staff was quite rude making it obvious that where we were sat was not to her liking- we were seated there by the spa staff. Our food appeared 15 minutes after that. The philosophy of a spa day is relaxation, this is achieved in the spa area but the staff in the bar were rude and unwelcoming. It may have been a hot day but they were not particularly busy and all they seemed concerned about was laying up for afternoon tea which started at 1pm. If our food and drinks had arrived at 12.30 as requested we would have vacated the table which we had been told to use by 1pm, as we had a facial booked. As it was there were many empty tables available when we returned to the spa none reserved. It was so disappointing that, what is normally a lovely day out was marred by poor customer service.

User

Nice setting and looks very good from the outside. Inside is adequate and bar areas/lounge are more than comfortable. Not much of a wine selection at the bar.

Staff were very good.

Room (#10) was small with a singe bed but adequate for a business night stay over.

WiFi connection was superb.

User

My wife and I spent last night there the surrounding golf course and grounds are lovely but we found it a soulless place. The bar area is like a retirement home with no atmosphere. Our room was ground floor rm 2 possibly the noisiest room we've ever stayed in, the floor boards above are in HD stereo! Best Western need to upgrade the doors as they bang all night long with no quiet mechanism to close quietly waking you up at all hours. I would not stay there again.

User

Beautiful building and surroundings but does not cater well for vegans (despite booking/notice given).

Staff showed a lack of knowledge towards dietary requirements and allergies and we were also served by 3+ different people throughout the meal, so had to explain things repeatedly.

A few bits of salad and fruit do not compare to the non vegan starters and mains and showed little creativity/thought from those preparing the food.

It was fresh, well presented and tasted nice but was not good value for money, especially in comparison to the other options.

I rarely review on Facebook but feel I need to now. My mom booked through Secret Escapes for a night plus spa visit as a treat for us. She rang several times to check the hotel and room are disabled accessible as she is on sticks on good days and in a chair on bad days which she cannot predict . She was assured the room would be. Additionally she booked a treatment in the spa for me for the morning after our stay. The staff on check in were rude, adamant we would have been told it was multiple stair access to the rooms. The rooms were small and cramped with no room for a chair. And the walls paper thin so we heard all about the girls dramas in the room next door at 1am. No handrails in the bathroom which is the standard for an accessible room and the door frame was too narrow to get a chair in even we could have even got the chair to the room. Luckily mom was on sticks so we managed but no help was offered at any point nor a discussion about whether a more suitable room would be available. At the spa we were told that we would have to be out by check out time despite it not being mentioned anywhere in our booking, and with almost two hours till check out they were reluctant to even let us in. Again the staff were really rude and dismissive. I asked for a robe and wasn't given one and had to ask twice for a towel and again for one for my mom. For my treatment (a massage) the technician left scratches all down my neck from her long nails, and I do not have particularly sensitive skin. I asked for a robe to go back to the downstairs area to join my mom and was told I couldn't have one as they are controlled by the reception (which didn't give me one) , so I ended up with oily trousers.

Ultimately the only good things were the food (although we were given off milk for our coffees) and the bed which was comfy.

Overall an overpriced and disappointing experience with zero customer service and no care to the guest at all. I would never recommend to anyone and if you or any of your party need any kind of assistance please please avoid this place.

I would very much appreciate a response on this.

User

Firstly, I would like to point out that I have always held the Premier Moor Hall in very high esteem. I have been to 4-5 spa days with my mom, another 4-5 spa days with my group of friends, hen nights, and many overnight stays and used to work for BW (where it is known as one of the best hotels in the group). I have never felt the need to complain, let alone via social media.

However, I walked into my mom's house this afternoon and she was still visibly upset following a phone call with a member of your spa team this morning.

We were bought a spa day experience as a Christmas present last year, we booked for early this year, however my husband was in a motorbike accident and ended up in hospital for a week and off his feet for a few months, which meant I couldn't leave our children.

We rebooked for May, when he was back on his feet, however not long before this my mom had an accident resulting in a very nasty break to her leg. As we wanted something to look forward to, we rebooked (again) for the 4th August.

My mom went in to hospital yesterday for a check up, hoping to get the all clear and sent on her way - minus her cast. Instead she was told the last operation has not worked and she will now have a bone graft in the next 4-6 weeks. I think you can imagine her devastation. I was amazed at how she put a brave face on. That was, until her conversation with your staff this morning. She was already disappointed and upset at having to rearrange again, not to mention feeling like a bit of a pain. However she didn't expect to be told that as she has only given 8 days notice instead of 14, we would lose 50% of the value of the spa day.

Now, I would like this looking into - as soon as possible - and someone getting back to either myself or my mom to let us know if there is anything that can be done about this. You can imagine how furious I am that after already receiving a massive blow, you have managed to make my mom feel even worse. Unless we receive some outstanding service, we will be finding somewhere else to go in the future.
