Beautiful scenery. Friendly winners. Good for walking and good nearby eating places.

Very reasonably priced, if not a bit small

It is hard to find a fault with this campsite. Beautiful, peaceful site. I came here after a grim three days in another site. It was a blessed relief! Nice, welcoming folk. I shall definitely use it again. And have already recommended it to friends. Amazing to think it's so close to Manchester.

We picked up our caravan on the 27th of May, and just wanted to go somewhere close ish so we could get to know all the ins and outs without worrying about travelling far..
WOW we got a beautiful spot, although so does everyone else:) the views are just spectacular, and you never get bored of looking out of your window..it's peaceful and beautiful, the dogs(once they got used to the new home) have loved it too, some lovely walks to do, and some lovely places to go to, we went to Hollingworth lake which was around 20 minutes away, again beautiful, but quite busy..
The showers and toilets are spotless as are the areas around the site, it's very well looked after by the owners, who are very pleasant and happy to help:)
We can not wait to come back👍 It's only around 35 minutes away from where we live, but it feels a million miles away..yes of course we will be trying other places, but this place is somewhere we will be gladly coming back to again and again:) loved it:)

I have been meaning to try this campsite for some time now but as a seasoned camper, I'm always looking to head further afield, thinking that the more distance from home, i camp, then the more 'away from it all' I would feel. More fool me........Just a 20 minute drive from North Manchester and I couldn't feel more away from the routine of daily exsistance. I had previously 'camped local' staying at Hollingworth Lake but this place really is by far the better site. The views you wake upto from the top camping field are fantastic and the peace and tranquility that you get here really is 'food for the soul'. The newly built toilet block facility is great with hot showers and I'm sure underfloor heating ? My stay here was the middle of March and the temperature outside was chilly but the whole campsite shower experience, after a bike ride along the pennine way, was very pleasant. With the beautiful villages of Delph and Uppermill just 10/15 mins drive away and miles and miles of cycking/walking territory on the doorstep, this place really is a gem. I'll be doing a lot more 'local camping' here over the coming Summer.
