The main aim of this group is help promote & sell the paper ! Our mission is to promote the importance of the Morning Star as a progressive paper. To raise funds for the long term future of the paper. Richard E Jacques Morning Star organiser (Edinburgh)

The reason why we setup this group some years ago ? This was done to raise the profile of the "Morning Star Readers & Supporters Group" up & down Britain which seem to be in decline, we wanted to raised the idea of how others within the wider labour & trade union movement as a whole could help promote their paper.

Re-enforcing the ethos of the co-operative element of the paper, we wanted to build the paper & saw potential to get the name "Morning Star" out there, in turn get out the "Editorial Position" on crucial issues of the day - this being crucial to give leadership to the wider movement on issues effecting us.

We also wanted, NOT just trade unionist to buy the paper, but ordinary members of the public, each day we would look at the news & select information that would be deem important to the movement & ordinary people, while at the same time allowing those who could not afford to buy the paper, still support the paper via Facebook & participate in discussions on the page wall.

Our main aim is to build the Morning Star Readers & Supporters Groups up & down Britain, whom for years upon years, ensured the financial survival of the paper in terms of fundraising.
