About Morrab Gardens
Morrab Gardens, on a south-facing slope in the heart of Penzance, has a microclimate which allows us to grow many plants rarely seen in Britain. Opened as Cornwall’s first public garden in 1889, it remains open to all, free of charge, all the year-round
Morrab Gardens Description
These beautiful sub-tropical public gardens, just off Penzance town centre, have been looked after by Penzance Council since their purchase in 1888 until Cornwall Council took then over and managed them via Cormac, but now in 2016 they are being returned to Penzance Council. Additional funding and voluntary help is provided by the Friends of Morrab Gardens who also manage this Facebook page via Tony Mills. Contributions to this page are welcomed, including pictures, historic stories and memories. Please contact tonymills@btinternet.com
