Morrish'S Fish Restaurant And Takeaway

We last ate here 20ish years ago and enjoyed the food. Having moved back down to Cornwall at the beginning of the year and settling near Redruth we called in today after a trip down West to Levant tin mine, once again very enjoyable.

I don't understand the reviews on Trip Advisor stating slow service and unhappy/rude staff!! Staff very friendly, service fast, food fresh, hot, tasty and big portion size.

Well worth the visit and shall return. Thank you

Popped in after a day in Mullion with family for fish & chips & it was lovely. Staff were very polite & the establishment was very clean & inviting, the children were made welcome as well. We were well fed & ready to get back home to Polruan.

Very nice fish and good fryit and burger. Chips a little bit soft for my liking but that's personal preference. Fast efficient service. Didn't have to wait too long despite cooking items from fresh for us. Very friendly, helpful staff. Will go back again.

After telling my partner about this for a long time, I finally got the chance to take him. Staff were polite and cheerful, the food was really good. Worth the long wait to show him! The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 was because there was plastic forks available, rather than wooden.

Veggie sausages were good, chips not good, too pale and not crispy enough for me. Girl who served us was not cheerful, polite or helpful.

I visited your restaurant yesterday around 6.15pm and was very dissapointed as we were not greeted with a welcome we were told to "sit over there" and find our own table. When our food arrived my brother burned his hand as he was not told plate was hot. the food was poor fish was chewy. This was supposed to be a birthday meal but we did not enjoy it or stay for dessert. I have visited on several occasions in the past and have had any issues

Had takeaway last night, and when I arrived home I found a portion of chips had been forgotten, the burger that I had asked to be plain had salad in it, and 1 person found a long hair in their food. Very disappointed as I used to be a big morrishs fan.

Great food, unfortunately had to find a staff member to be seated as there was no one around, ordered the food but when I asked for a bottle of flat vimto I was told you can only purchase that from the takeaway area not the restaurant, I replied with ok I’ll go and purchase from the takeaway and bring it in for my daughter to drink to be told this also was not allowed??? When I went to pay I was then offered to purchase the drink (while in the restaurant not in the takeaway area) to take with me 😡

Decided to pop in for some fish and chips on the way back from Perranporth beach. The young lady serving didn’t even smile or say hello?

I ordered 2 battered sausages with chips and a cod and chips.

Got told the amount to pay and still no smile or a thank you.

I waited not to long and then had my order, still no smile or thank you!

I walked out and checked the boxes and to my surprise I was missing chips? I was fuming at this point and headed straight back, charged £11.20

I said I’m not paying £11.20 for this, I think you’ve got the order wrong? She then handed me a box of chips and I didn’t even get a sorry!

I won’t ever be going back there and will tell people to avoid it.

Customer service was shocking and I can’t believe the attitude they have.

An absolute rip off! Portion sizes disgusting . And £3.40 for 5 chicken nuggets on their own ?? You actually having a laugh?? If my kids weren’t starving when my husband brought it home I would of come down and chucked it back !

go in to get abit dinner as me and my sister is there waiting for it to cook dish out so the boss come out and goes on about one of us or our family or friend owes them £11.50 I never felt so embarrassed in my life he accused us of breaking the law by £11.50 maybe they should look a little closer to home. when he was finish you can get the food ready now wtf. I would never be eating there again. cheers

What a joke. £6.35 we were charged for a piece of fish, no chips just the fish. Over £20 for 1 large chips, 1 chips, 2 pieces of fish and a sausage.

Went to have fish n chips tonight and accept it was very busy but waited over 15 mins (after being seated)to be acknowledged by the waiting staff. People who came in after us had service before us. I’d advise anyone that if Morrish’s are busy best not bother as they don’t have any staff organisation let alone enough staff.

Left feeling very disappointed �

Went to get a takeaway this evening. The guy serving didn’t even acknowledge me while he was preparing other meals and I was waiting over 5 minutes. Another lady came hovering around and still no glance over at me and certainly no smile from anyone there. Ordered jumbo sausage and cheesy chips which was a small portion with hardly any cheese at the cost of £4.60 plus the sausage was buried under the chips to bulk out the look of it. Overall I am disappointed and will not be returning. The staff need to cheer up or go and find a job they are happy in which perhaps doesn’t involve dealing with customers!

Went to get a takeaway this evening that I ordered online for a pick up time. When I arrived at my pick up time was left waiting for 25 minutes without even being acknowledged. When I asked a member of staff what was happening I was seen as a problem! I Won’t be returning because of the Childish staff and lack of adult Managment. We Will be going to lanner fish and chip shop next time !

Went for a small cod and chips with a large cod and small chips, the small cod was tiny, the large could have come from an eel it was so thin, for 16 pounds a real disappointment

Took my mum over last night for a celebration meal, total disaster, found a table and waited over 20 minutes , noone bothered to come over and serve us, so ended up walking out..Looking around the round , so many tables waiitng for over 30 minutes and still no food..

So dissapointing as have been on may occasions, always telling people how great this place is..

What is going on???

Think it's really bad to call someone bk to the counter admit to messing up a order then demand more money cause the staff don't know the menu prices. Really poor customer service , if it wasn't for having hungry kids in car after a football match I would of asked for refund and walked out.

Ordered a takeaway online this evening. We were left waiting 25 minutes without any acknowledgement from the staff. My husband actually had to get a staff members attention and tell her that we had ordered online for 25 minutes ago. There needs to be someone in management watching the staff. They are not professional, stand around talking, laugh at themselves when they make a mistake. They need to grow up and do their job properly. We won't be returning again. Best off going to Lanner!
