A little throwback to Jungle meals in Calais - sharing my food all together every day outside my shelter with my Jungle family 🍳 (@mo_aljasem94 tucking in quite comfortably as per)
Food is such a vital part of surviving not just physically but also mentally during these tough, long days in the cold for refugees in northern France so alhamdulillah for @refugeecommunitykitchen and the unbelievable (I really mean it - they are heroes) work they do every day, feeding thousands of delicious hot meals. Please consider donating or volunteering if you can. And if you can’t make it to Calais, you can also volunteer with them in London, where they prepare hot meals for the homeless community in Camden, Hackney and Bethnal Green.

Mohammed cooks to make people happy. Come and feast on Mohammed's irresistibly delicious baked eggs, everyone will enjoy two types of eggs including his infamous "Jungle Eggs", served with three types of homemade hummus, salads, fresh bread, juice and Syrian coffee. You won't leave hungry!
Mohammed's cooking is inspired by his upbringing in the spectacularly beautiful, fertile mountain town of Ain al-Fijah in souther...n Syria. Every fresh vegetable, fruit and herb you could imagine grew on the doorstep, animals and chickens were kept, and people came together to cook, share and enjoy this food together.
We believe that everyone should be welcome at Mo's table and would like to offer free tickets to people in the community who would not be able to afford to come otherwise. Please support us in welcoming everyone by adding a *donation* on top of your ticket price this will go directly to paying for someone else to join.
There will be three sittings 10.00am, 12.00noon and 2.00pm.
We believe food tastes best when shared so most of our dishes are sharing plates (but don't worry there is always plenty for everyone.)
Tickets - £16.50 + booking fees + *donation for a community ticket*
Your ticket includes: Mo's baked eggs (two servings), three types of homemade hummus, salads, fresh bread, juice and coffee, plus a "new dish" which changes each time!
To make it extra special the Lost Boys will be running a £20 bottomless prosecco option that can be purchased on the day.
Please note given our small setup we cannot offer refunds but are happy for tickets to be transferred. Please send us an email if you sadly can no longer join us.

We would be incredibly grateful if you could donate some AAA batteries, torches and phone chargers.
Our friends Mobile Refugee Support provide electricity in Dunkirk every single day of the week in order for refugees to charge up their mobile phones.
... We forget how important mobile phones and being connected are to refugees. It is a way of staying in touch with relatives, finding out information crucial to the journey, keeping minds distracted from the trauma.
MRS also do phone repairs and charge up battery packs every night which they return full the next morning.

Yesterday was the launch party of the incredible Shado magazine and they kindly asked me to cater for their guests so we put together my first Syrian take away box and we sold out! Had a wonderful evening with great company, banging music, beautiful art and delicious food. Thank you all for your support so far.
