Welcome to Mosaic Counselling Services.

Our mission is to provide affordable and accessible counselling to everyone in our community aged 18 + .

At difficult times in our lives, a quiet, warm, caring space with a counselling professional can offer a unique solution. Investing in your health and wellbeing is so important both for you and for those around you. Counselling is one way to make this investment. However, we appreciate that this can be expensive, especially when times are hard.

Mosaic Counselling Services is a group practice of trainee and recently qualified counsellors who offer short or long term counselling at a low cost, to those who might not otherwise afford counselling.

Most of our counsellors are currently completing their Diploma in Counselling at The Albany Centre, which enables us to offer a reduced fee. We also have a small number of counsellors who are recently qualified.

Our counsellors are regularly assessed and supervised to ensure top quality clinical work, and all adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework.

Our counsellors are trained in an Integrative framework, with a specialism in Gestalt and Person Centred counselling.

Counselling sessions are held weekly in our light, airy consulting rooms in the heart of St Albans city centre. We are based at The Albany Centre.


How to Make an Appointment

To make an appointment for an initial assessment, please either phone or email us.

Healthcare providers may also send referrals by post to the address listed here.

Following the initial assessment we will make an appropriate ongoing referral to one of our counsellors or, where we are unable to meet your needs, to another service or practitioner.

Please note that our landline and mobile phone are not always covered so you may need to leave a message. We will get back to you as quickly as possible. We are generally able to respond faster to email.

Fees

Our usual fee is £25 per session.
Some concessions are available depending on means.

Fees are reviewed during the course of the therapy and may be increased or decreased according to your means.

We are able to accept external funding for counselling; for example, you can pay £10 if your social worker, GP, charity or another professional involved in your care can pay the remaining £15.

Please note: if you are able to pay a normal private practitioner fee (£40 per hour or more), we will refer you on to one of the private practitioners working at The Albany Centre (where Mosaic Counselling is housed).
