About Mostart

MostArt aims to create links between the communities in London by using diverse forms of art as a tool.

Mostart Description

We are the local art centre for Stoke Newington. MostArt Centre aims to create links between our local community by using diverse forms of art as a tool. Our main purpose is to provide activities such as live music, art exhibitions, comedy nights, film clubs and etc. . that encourage understanding and acceptance between all people and provide a peaceful sustainable community.

We have weekly events and are always looking for more local artists and art lovers to work with and support. As well as our restaurant and cafe, we have a large private event space downstairs which is available for hire. The space is fully equipped with lighting, a sound system, projector, stage and a fully stocked bar to cater for any event or function. Our goal is to invest time and money back into our local artists and performers so they can play live at our venue and share their talent with our customers and community.

Before and after all events we invite our customers to mingle, communicate and make connections with one another, share interests, ideas and their love of art and culture.

We provide the feeling of being in a friend's living room with our mismatched furniture and the comfortable vibe in our restaurant. We want all people to feel relaxed, enjoy and put their feet up while they are involved within our place.

We look forward to seeing you soon and sharing our passion for art, culture and people with you!

REVİEWS & TRAILER OF THE SUNDAY'S MOVIE (22 Oct - 7:30pm)
"Surprisingly affecting" LOS ANGELES TIMES
... "Camus sets the movie's initial course, but Mr. Oelhoffen resolutely steers it home with political context, historical hindsight, an unambiguous moral imperative and a pair of well-matched performances; put another way, he makes the story his own." NEW YORK TIMES

A tale of two rootless strangers, “Far From Men” takes its inspiration from an Albert Camus short story that was first published in his collection “Exile and the Kingdom” (1957). The movie is considerably more sentimental than the Camus, which is as arid as its stark milieu and absent a ray of hope.

During their journey, the pair... encounter both the Algerian rebels fighting for their independence and the French colonial forces, and Daru is pressured to pick a side. Meanwhile, Mohamed must figure out a way to prevent his murder of his cousin from triggering a blood feud. ORIGINAL TITLE: Loin des hommes.
