Wow! I was hanging for a real meal and I got it. Fantastic selection of options for meat eaters and the vegos! Service was also exceptional and we will be back before we return to Australia. Thanks for a great meal.

What a good discovery ! The meal was very good. People are very nice, and the prices were another good surprise ! For sure i ll come back !

Visiting from US. Wanted to try Bangers and Mash. I don't think I could have had a better experience. Ordered Bobble and Squeak with classic pork sausage and traditional gravy and I'm honestly going to crave it at home. My only suggestion to fellow Americans: you're going to need to add salt, but that's only because of what we're used to.

Took three 10yr olds yesterday evening and they loved it. Hard to choose from the menu but chicken pie & sweet potato mash was delicious. Great service by the friendly owner, cool place.

Just happened to pass Mother Mash on a cold walk about town. We had a very warm welcome and was amazed by the quality of food and great service. Veg options are spot on. Definitely recommended and will be returning in the near future. Cheers guys.

I worked on Carnaby St in 2007 and found this place... best sausage and mash in London... I come almost every time I’m back in London and my wife ( we live in Norway )comes here when with her friends traveling in London... the owner is a great guy and the whole place is friendly and relaxing.. couldn’t recommend it highly enough. The food is outstanding, pies sausage mash mushy peas and great traditional dessert... what more do you want? ������

Lovely veggie pie with champ mash. The champ could do with more spring onion & cheese as these were barely discernible. The onion gravy lacked pieces of onion, but tasted ok. The service was fantastic though. Friendly, engaging waitresses.

Fantastic food, frenetically busy but we were served our delicious food quickly. I posted my food pic on fb (like you do) but this sparked a pie wars with people bleating in about liqor instead of gravy. Nonsense, the gravy was as good as the pie!

The pie and mash was actually really good (my sister had a mishap with hers) but the waitress was actually extremely rude. It was extremely hot yesterday and there was no ice available for drinks and the drinks we were served were warm..



Would consider going again if the same waitress wasn’t there.

Pretty okay pies but it is a very busy venue. We got a table at 5 pm but had to rush our meal as there were two really large parties of 30 plus. My pie, chicken, bacon and leek, was fine. Heavy on pastry and a bit lean on filling. The onion gravy was a bit generic and lacked texture of having any real onions. Sweet potato mash was pretty generic. Was disappointed that they did not have a children’s menu; they served a 10 year old an adults portion of bangers and mash that he hardly touched. Most of the East End pie shops close at 5 or for lunchtime, so this is a convenient central location for English pie and mash but it is a tad pricy for what you get. Pie and mash at an East End place will set you back about £4. You pay here for the location, flexible late hours. Service was friendly and the food was served surprisingly quickly.

I really love Mother Mash...going there every now and then...especially when friends and family are visiting London. It's always very nice and delicious.

Went yesterday again and I was a bit upset as I was looking forward for the apple pie...then when we asked for the dessert we've been told that the kitchen was close.

It was 9.40pm....seriuosly????

Food: Great food! 5 stars!... Just what I needed after a long day of shopping. It really could not have been better...



Service: I don’t think that I have ever had worse service. From the moment that we walked through the door, to the moment that we paid our check, our waitress was incredibly rude, and made it clear that she had no interest in serving us. The other two women working were incredibly nice, but we were unfortunately stuck with this rude woman, who clearly did not want to be there.



Unfortunately, I had to give them 3 stars, as the terrible service ruined my meal. I would love to say that I would return, as the food was great, but I’m not so sure that I would. I’d probably go somewhere else if I walked in and saw that waitress.

I’ve been here many times (10x) and have always loved the food (the mash particularly). I went there this week, in a sling following a shoulder injury, so I asked the waitress if they could cut up my sausages and she said No...just a no and no follow up, when I pressed her and asked again, she said that they were too busy to do this. So I just gave up and my friend offered to cut it up for me. Luckily I had someone there for me, but what if I didn’t. It would have taken a minute to cut 2 sausages up into small pieces. Disappointingly rude. Enough to make me not want to go back.
