Then spend your evenings eating chocolate by the log burner and drinking prosecco in the hot tub under the stars. 🙈😝🍾

The long nights maybe here but we are cosy all year round.

As we all now can't afford sangria in Spain, why not come and join us for a Hendricks and tonic in a hot tub. You also get a lot of bang for your buck in our local pubs making you feel like you're abroad.

Lovely morning up at Mount Hooley today.

Yeah it's getting a little bit thicker. This weeks guests strikes it lucky. Log cabin, fire, snow, hot tub, some sort of beverage.

Starting to get a dusting this morning. And it's still coming.

Wonderful lodge in breathtaking Cumbria. Everything you could wish for from the owners. Loved the hot tub, amazing whilst the snow fell. Wow! Best place we've stayed in as a group. Thank you for an amazing time

What an amazing place! Finished to an incredible high standard. Nothing not been thought of. A night in the hot tub under the stars is a truely unforgetable experience. If you are thinking about booking dont just think about it do it! We will be booking again definately. Cant wait to go back.

What a fabulous place to stay. The Lodge is fantastic with lovely homely touches. There are plenty of walks around the stunning countryside and the local pubs are also very hospitable. We will definitely be back for another visit.

We stayed here in November 2014 and had a wonderful stay. The lodge had everything you could think of. The hot tub was great on the frosty evenings we were there. Dog friendly too, which is great as you don't get many places that allow dogs and are as beautiful as this. will defo book sometime soon! The owners are really friendly and attentive too, such a credit. Thanks again! x

We spent an amazing new year (30 Dec 2016 to 03 Jan 2017) at Mount Hooley lodge. The lodge itself is gorgeous, with everything you could ask for and the views from the huge wooden decking are amazing. Sitting in the hot tub looking at all of the stars and watching snow another night were definitely a highlight. Chris and Marion were lovely, Chris even helped us bring extra wood supplies back to the lodge (the log stove was one of my favourite aspects). I would recommend this fabulous lodge to anyone wanting a relaxing break and we will definitely be back soon.

This is a fantastic place with stunning views and comfortable furnishings. The hot tub in -8°c is a great experience. We hadn’t expected quite so much snow but it’s certainly been dramatic and our hosts have been amazing- even towing the car out of a snow drift!



We enjoyed playing the ukulele by the log burner and doing a wine tasting.



We’d love to come back when there is less snow to enjoy some local walks and ride on the railway.

The only problem with MHL is leaving! What a beautifully relaxing place to spend some time. Chris and Marion have thought of everything; every detail of the Lodge is designed for the comfort of their guests, and all done with great respect for the spectacular countryside. The view is breathtaking and you come away feeling like you've experienced a bit of heaven on earth. Fabulous!

Spent a fab Easter week with family at MHL. Accommodation exceeds all expectations and owner/hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Used the hot tub in rain, hail and snow! fortunately the weather cleared towards the end of the week and we enjoyed sunshine and BBQ on the deck. Lovely local walks - great for our Great Dane who then loved lazing in front of log burner! Would love to return with friends warmer months and make more use of the outside space and views. Without doubt a stunning part of the country we hope to revisit soon.

Rayner we are going to have to update our review: This is the finest cabin we have ever stayed in...Number 1 in our top 5 places to stay!!

Cracking wildlife.. Red squirrels running across the decking, Tawny Owls hooting and landing on the fence, Wren, Woodpecker, Roe deer in the woods, Northern Lights (aurora) and meteors. I couldn't write a better script. Fantastic

Originally supposed to be a three night stay but loved it so much we booked an extra two nights. Chris and Marion are lovely people and nothing is too much trouble. Lodge is of a very high standard, everything you could possibly want and need. The views - wow!!!! Just couldn't stop admiring the stunning surroundings. Sky at night is amazing - shooting stars unbelievable - talk about 'dark skies'!!!

Major birthday blues after the best 21st weekend at mount hooley lodge ever! Even better that we got snow!! Absolutely amazing! An absolute dream! We'll be back without a doubt!!

Just back from a lovely weekend with family and friends. Fantastic lodge set in beautiful secluded spot with stunning views and sunsets. Great walks for both humans and dogs. The lodge has everything you could possible want and more. Will definitely return.

I visited mount hooley beginning of June 2018 with some of my girls for my hen do. Chris and Marion the owners are wonderful people. Mount hooley has stunning views second to none with 5* luxury accommodation. Loved every minute of our three day break! So relaxing...good for the soul

Fantastic place, the views are amazing. Even the bad weather didn’t stop us having a lovely time and my dogs first holiday - he loved it :)

An absolute amazing place to holiday! ! This lodge really is a slice of heaven. Sheer luxury and sheer tranquility. My question on arriving to my husband was 'when can we come again'?.



The lodge has everything you could wish for, so well equipped even down to a picnic hamper for you to use. The beds are extremely comfortable which we have found very rarely in most other cottages visited. Chris and marion have not left anything out and you can tell from walking through the door that it is home from home and they have thought of everything.



The HOT TUB!!!!!! - Absolutely blissful after the miles we have walked on the South Tyne Railway and Ullswater to soothe away the aching muscles. Gave me the will to carry on the miles my husband wanted to yomp!!



The views!!!- STUNNING, could have sat out on the decking for hours just watching the day roll by and the sunset is one to definitely watch.



Chris, Marion and Richard are fantastic hosts and would do anything to help nothing seemed too much trouble for them at all.



The major plus point for us is that we were able to bring our much loved dogs with us and I can honestly say they have enjoyed this holiday as much as us.



We stayed here for my husband 50th birthday and all we can say it is definitely one to remember. We came here tired and in need of recharging and are leaving recharged and relaxed, and looking forward to our next stay in march.

Amazing experience! Proper country pubs with amazing food and cheap drinks (£1 bottles) and we were there for New years eve as well! Great friendly people and the cabin is amazing! My life's not the same without that hot tub! #Geordiesontour
