Great ten lake tour, Matt our guide was very informative and took us to places we would never have thought of, highly recommend.

Great tour (we did Ten Lakes Spectacular) and a great guide David. Lake District is stunning and the tour gave us a good overview of the area. We had some super tasty ice cream in Buttermere and a traditional gingerbread in Grasmere. All in all, could not recommend it more!

Really great for a day out. I'd recommend.

Great Tour very informative and even though its December and the day was quite foggy, we still enjoyed ourselves and view was beautiful will come back in summer where we would be able to do so much more... our guide was fantastic apologies I'm not good with names so have forgotten!

This was honestly the best tour I have ever taken. The scenery is breath-taking, and Jane, our guide, was unbelievably knowledgeable and personable. She had a knack for telling you just enough to pique your interest, and knew not to bludgeon you with thousands of details. Above all she was a safe and skillful driver. The (French) receptionist at the home office was also very gracious and welcoming.

Yorkshire Dales Full Day Tour from York by Mountain Goat Ltd Yorkshire day tours

With Lee our tour guide, we drove hither and yon over the moors and through the dales of Yorkshire Dales National Park. This was a wonderful day out. There were just five people on the tour (we 3 plus another couple) so it was like having a private tour in our minivan that normally would seat about 16. Very comfortable. Visited quaint villages like Ripon (mentioned as the nearest town in Downton Abbey), Bolton Castle (a ruin) and its adjacent church (still in use), and Aysgarth Falls, a cascade style falls with ancient factory next to it. Lee explained that the factory had constructed mill run to its rear and water was channeled down this run to power a water wheel. Visited many small villages and ate in a delightful pub with great food. Interesting to compare the various villages; most have a central market square; some had markets going on. I found a wonderful stitchery shop in Reeth (I think it was Reeth) and bought a cross stitch kit. Saw the house that stood in for Siegfried Farnon's house in All Creatures Great and Small, as well as the ford James Herriot would drive through in the opening credits. A nice day out with tons of stone walls, scenic villages and stone farmsteads worthy of Wuthering Heights. Gorse was in bloom (yellow) but heather was dark brown. It will bloom purple in late summer and this will transform the slightly forbidding landscape. Lots of romance and atmosphere on this tour. A great day out from York to see the real countryside and its inhabitants. We took two tours with this company and they were wonderful.
