Founded by Martin Buckles and Doug Cook initially with a vision of becoming a Moto2 chassis supplier to the UK racing fraternity but due to the (current) lack of Moto2 class in the UK the direction that Maroug is taking has changed somewhat. The first prototype bike made, called the GP21 (GP - denotes Grand Prix, 2 - denotes Moto2 and 1 - denotes mark 1) has been very successful in early testing and has almost served its purpose now and is soon going to be retired to make way for the next development. The next project will be called GP11 and will be designed /built inline with the current CRT class rules in the highest category of Motorcycle Grand Prix (MotoGP) racing. Maroug are developing a revolutionary way to build /assemble the chassis so that the chassis can be made extremely light weight and strong using techniques taken directly from the aviation sector so keep an eye on this page to hear about the developments.
