M&S Hampstead Simply Food

Small M&S that is often overcrowded. Not a great selection, mostly microwave meals and sandwiches.

They only sell a couple of things that are worth their price. The rest too expensive for what it is.

I have used m and s for few years now. This is the worst m and s ever. Got a food poisoning from the prepared meal. Was vomiting all day. Ready meals are not even stored in a fridge ! Disgrace

This is the only chain grocery store in Hampstead Heath. Unfortunately it is poorly managed and has left us frustrated on several occasions. Firstly their offer system, e.g. 3 for £10, doesn't always work at the self-service till and you have to go rectify it at the customer service counter. In fact on some occasions we have found that either something marked as 3 for £10 is actually no longer part of the deal or vice versa whereby something is not marked but is part of the deal. The self-service machines never actually seem to be fully functioning which is poor for a company this size. Their ability to keep things stocked, particularly fruit and vegetables is poor. I appreciate these things are subject to external factors but it would be courteous to have a sign explaining why something as basic as cabbage has been out of stock for over two days. The deli counter is a bit of a joke. The food is ridiculously expensive but doesn't actually offer anything to justify the price. That unfortunately is not very surprising given that M&S charge a premium for supposed quality. On the plus side the staff are generally helpful and friendly. Never had any issues with any of them or witnessed any unprofessional behaviour.

Medium size M&S chain supermarket. Impressive salad bar. Good choice of various food and drinks. Healthy options. Quick service. Good High Street location near many shops and cafés.

Reasonably well laid out store.

Ques for check out were short and moved quickly, on top of that the staff were friendly.

Good for quick shopping after im done with hospital appointment.

Handy for odd bits but layout is strange and not enough selection, ie., I could have bought gluten free bread mix but they didn't have any normal bread mix.

Good range of high quality food and drink. Store includes in store bakery, rotisserie counter and salad bar. Wide range of wines and spirits. Large and expanding range of gluten-free options in ambient, chilled and frozen ranges. Queues can be long at peak times, and customer service can be mixed. Store can also be used as a pickup point for M&S online clothing and homeware orders.
