My wife (Mel) and I became interested in MTB riding because I got seriously over weight and un-fit and so we needed a sporting pastime to get out in the fresh air and burn some calories.

Long story short - with Mel's encouragement I lost 14 Kilos and I can now breath and enjoy sport. Trust me it was hard work!

During the two year period it took me to get up to "Racing Speed" we spent many thousands of pounds on Mountain Bikes and equipment which was not really suitable for us and I believe this was because the sales people who sold us all of this equipment had their profit in mind and not our best interest.
