We may not be able to open at the moment but we are all closely connected to essential/key workers! . Lauras boyfriend is a Funeral Director, looking after everyone who has sadly passed from Covid 19 in our area. . Emmas husband is lorry driver, he's delivered to both Nightingale Hospitals, food for supermarkets and PPE to hospitals.... . Kieras parents work with essential oils used in the production of anti-bacterial hand soaps we are all using right now. . We know we have some key working customers including many NHS staff on the frontline but we just want to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone still going out and working to keep the country going right now. ❤

Ignore my last post, clearly I saw a glimmer of hope in what I had read.

Here are some links to the items we use in the salon when we groom your dogs.......
We use these slicker brushes: https://www.groomers-online.com/…/groom ers-large-sl…/s15407…
... We use these combs: https://www.groomers-online.com/…/groom ers-metal-comb…/s924…
A small bull nosed pair of scissors like this are perfect for trimming eyes as they don't have a point so its safer around the eyes if you're not confident: https://www.groomers-online.com/…/4-12i n-roseline-cu…/s2427…
The main shampoo we use comes in 5ltr bottles only but this is a perfect general use shampoo: https://www.groomers-online.com/…/peach -apricot-shampoo-p11…
If you would like recommendations for clippers and what blades to use and advice on how to clip if you have decided your going to try that then please message us as we can advise you as every dog is different for this. :)

How are we all doing with brushing?? If your are an owner who likes a longer head, tails and legs on your dogs, especially bichons, cockerpoos, doodles or anything curly coated, then please please keep on brushing. I have found this fantastic post from a fellow groomer which perfectly highlights the areas best to keep on top of whilst brushing your dogs at home. We ask for especially the head and tail. Even if we have to clip your dogs body short after all of this (It will b...e summer) then at least we can leave a nice shaped head and tail but we do need your help by brushing at home to achieve this.
I shall be posting some links later to the brushes and combs we use as it does look like this lockdown will continue longer then the 3 weeks originally stated.

I think I may have confused a few people with my last post! We REALLY hope to be open before August. We will open the day they tell us we can, we only said appointments from end of August/September onwards is because that's when we are fully booked till, we can't book anyone in before that because we are fully booked not because we think we will be closed till then.
Anyone who has appointment is and will still be booked in ready for when we can open, we just don't know when that will be yet
I hope that makes a bit more sense.

User

Hey! Were still here. Hope everyone is doing ok, staying safe and healthy!
Just a quick message to say that we do have the diary at home with us so if you want to make any future bookings (these start end of August) then please do message to get booked in as we anticipate these getting booked very quickly when we are able to re-open. So please do message, and we can sort out future appointments for you. 😊
All booked appointments will remain where they are till the end of the year and we will pick up where we can when we are allowed to re-open.

Dog Grooming Tips! 🛁🐕🐾
Following on from our post yesterday here are a few tips to help you keep on top of your dogs coat at home.
1- Always brush you dog out BEFORE you bath it. Bathing a knotty dog will tighten the knots making them even harder to brush out.
... 2- When brushing, part the hair in sections to ensure you get right down to the coat nearest the skin, this is the bit owners generally miss, the top coat is generally brushed beautifully but the undercoat is matted and that's when a dog needs to be shaved.
3- Use a comb! If you can't get a comb through your dogs coat then he/she isn't brushed out. Again make sure you part the hair and get as close to the skin as you can.
Hopefully these tips will help you keep on top if your dogs coat until we re-open.

Good Morning lovelies.....We know it's a weird and less then ideal situation right now, and we want nothing more then to be back in the salon pampering your pooches, but whilst that isnt possible for us atm it would be a huge help if you could really keep on top of their coats by brushing regularly to help stop them from matting. After all most of us are at home more then we normally are and now is a perfect time to do that!
It doesn't matter how long and hairy they get, if t...hey are brushed out and knot free we can work with a long coat to re-style it.
For some of you this will be way over your normal grooming time before we can cut your dogs hair again and if their coat is matted, please understand that we will have no option but to clip them off (could be short) for their own comfort and welfare.
If you would like any advice on brushing and grooming your dog please don't hesitate to ask.

We are absolutely heartbroken this evening to be telling everyone that due to government restrictions we are having to close the salon with immediate effect.
Everyone with an appointment within the next 3 weeks will be contacted, via phone call, text or message on facebook.
We fully understand that your dogs will need grooming when we are able to re-open and we have no idea how we are going to catch up with everyone who will now have missed an appointment but we promise we w...ill do our best.
We promise now that when we are allowed to open again we will be offering FREE face trims and FREE nail clipping to any dog who was due in, in the time period we have had to close for. We know this isnt a full grooming session but at the moment being unsure when we can re-open and also still juggling Emmas children being off of school this is what we have to offer.
We wanted to stay open for as long as we could as we know how much your dogs need grooming and also how hard it is to get an appointment with us. But please remember when we re-open we are only human and can only do so much.
We hope you stick by us and support us in this very difficult time as we value everyone of you and we havent kept going 15 years to let this be the end of us!
Till we re-open!

Hello lovelies....I know we are posting a lot recently but needs must....we know times are a little bleak and everyone is in a state of uncertainty so we want to bring a little bit of cheer into the day to day....as most of you will know next door to us is Peaberry Coffee Roasters and to help keep another small business open we have teamed up with them....if when dropping your pooch to us, pop in for a take away coffee and let Gerald know that your dog is with us to receive 10% off a cup of coffee ☕😊 times aren't great right now but that doesn't mean your coffee shouldn't be 😁

LONG POST BUT PLEASE READ
We're not sure how much longer we will be able to stay open but we will carry on as long as we can.
We have decided to implement a few things to help keep everyone safe.
... •Please only one customer in the salon at a time.
• Please don't bring your whole family in, if you don't want to leave children or other people in the car then please pull up out the front beep your horn and one of us will collect your dog from you.
•If there is someone else in the salon when you arrive please wait for them to leave before entering.
•And if you have any symptoms no matter how subtle, please please call to cancel your appointment. And please use the hand sanitise provided.
I know being cash only at the moment really isn't ideal but we are accepting bank transfers please do ask for the details to do this. Alternatively please try and pay with the correct money (or leave a tip, lol) this means less handling of money is happening. And please don't be alarmed if we use gloves to handle the money, its a precaution for everyone.
Rather then being in the salon trying to make new appointments please call and do this in advance or call after your appointment and we will be happy to do this. This means you can spend as little time in the salon as possible.
I hate that its come to this but we want to keep everyone as safe as we can and still carry on with some kind of normality.
Once again, please use the hand sanitiser we have in the salon as we are.
Lots of love at a social distance 💜
