πŸ’–Morning I just wanted to update you about how the guidelines stand in regards to dog grooming during this pandemic.
The Canine and Feline Sector Group (CFSG) along with Defra have isssued a statement saying that we can now work but under very stringent guidelines.
... These guidelines include:
- keeping 2 meter distance between people - Wearing full PPE - gloves , masks, apron & visor which must be changed between each dog - Only one dog to be in the salon at one time - The dog must be sprayed with pet safe disinfectant once handed over to the groomer before being bathed - After the grooming session the whole area needs to be thoroughly disinfected before the next dog can come in - After the salon has been deep cleaned the groomer then needs to disinfect themselves throughly before taking another client in . - Essential travel does not include driving your dogs to their appointment so you will need to walk or I would need collect your dog .
There has been a lot of debate about groomers working throughout this pandemic but I feel that as much as I would all love to be back working & earning money , I need to be responsible and do our part to try and stop the spread of this terrible virus .
One major point in these guidelines that I feel is unethical is the high usage of PPE we would need to use to safely groom your dog . It is common knowledge that the front line workers who are doing their best to try and keep people ALIVE do not have enough PPE, how can I justify buying bulk loads so that I can give a dog a hair cut ??
Another point is what happens if an accident occurred ? Dog or groomer ? Vets are available for emergencies but could this have been avoided ? Do I really want to go into hospital at this point because I’ve been injured by a dog?
How many dogs would be happy to be sprayed with disinfectant (pet safe) once arriving in the salon & how can I do this without touching the dog? It’s not the kind of experience I want them to have with me.
On that note , my decision to keep temporarily closed is not a legal one but a moral one . Once the Government (not various governing bodies) gives us the green light to open up we will do .
In the meantime keep brushing your dogs & give them a hug from me🐢
I hope you all can understand my position and are staying well.
Hope to see you all very soon πŸ’– xxx

So I've finally managed to strip Molly's coat right back , still needs a bit of tweaking but loving her new look πŸ’– planning on rolling her coat every 2-3 weeks so 🀞 her coat will recover from all the clipping

Just a bit of fun. I'd love to see your pooches report card

Hope everyone is doing ok and keeping well.
With the situation as it is I have made the decision to cancel all bookings for the rest of this year. This is because when we do finally get the go ahead to go back to work everyone's grooming schedules will be all over the place and it will be almost impossible to get everyone back to where they should be.
I'm working at coming up with an idea of how to rebook everyone in fairly so far I have come up with may be introducing a depo...sit which will be taken off your final bill. Let me know your thoughts.
I am really missing all my doggie friends and I can't wait to see you all again on the other side.
Stay safe πŸŒˆπŸ’–πŸΎ

So my Molly is 3.5 yrs old and I have always clipped her because she was such a pain to try and handstrip when she was younger. I've been trying to get her coat to a point where I can start handstripping her (She was last clipped at the beginning of December) After being unable to groom for just over a week now my fingers where getting twitchy, so I made a start on handstripping. I must say I'm very impressed with how her coat is coming on and can't wait to show you the outcome!

A great video I thought would help you with the maintenance of your dogs coat until we can get back to normal. As usual I'm on the end of the phone if you need any help. Stay safe 🌈

Hey,
There still appears to be a few groomers still open and working as usual and claiming to be "Safe" although this can be tempting as no one knows how long this lock down will last, it is putting lives at risk!!
Try your best with the maintenance of your dogs coat and I will help you as much as I can but I will pick up the pieces when this is all over πŸ˜‰ Your health and safety is more important!
... Please read this post from a fellow groomer and stay safe guys πŸΎπŸ’–

Hi guys I hope you are all well and staying safe. Whilst we are self isolating and now in lockdown I was going to do a video to help you with maintenance of your dog but this video nails it on the head. Colin Taylor is a very well known and highly respected groomer throughout the world and really knows his stuff. I hope this helps you. I am still on the end of the phone should you need any help or advise. Stay safe and see you all on the other side. Love and hugs to all your wonderful pooches πŸ’–πŸΎ

Unfortunately myself and family are having to go into self isolation starting now due to a family member showing symptoms! Obviously all appointments from tomorrow will need to be cancelled and I shall be in contact with those affected. Hopefully this will all blow over a lot sooner than expected but until then keep safe Claire xx
