Overpriced equipment & staff seem aloof at best. Real shame as it's my closest LBS.

The food was great but we waited half an hour just for water / drinks on a quiet Sunday. The staff were very slow and not particularly polite. They had ran out of eggs so were not serving their “all day” brunch anymore and it was only midday. Lovely venue with great views but staff need to try harder.

Every time I've been I've been left feeling patronised and inadequate, don't carry large sizes of clothing and floor space taken up with trendy filler. Enquired about Endura MT500 bib shorts (had 3 pairs over 15 years unbeatable), got told they didn't stock them and pestered to buy some lighter weight ones.

Bought my Specialized mountain bike in for them to look at as chain was slipping. first they said cant take it as they had too much work on. Then they came out with a massive £350 repair bill to do it! saying it needing lots replacing. Rubbish. I sorted it out myself...for nothing I,m aware some some companies will will use this tactic. Not nice. bike had only been used lightly.

The cycleworks team are fantastic. I went in with my carbon bike after being knocked off. Ryan knew his stuff and recommended scrapping. He helped me look for a new bike and even sorted a better 34 chain ring to help on the hills. Neil and Michael also extremely helpful. This is the second bike I have bought from them and would recommend Mud Dock.

Proper coffee, proper atmosphere - very nice! Pricey, but worth it, the mechanics are very knowledgeable and friendly.

Very poor food quality and it's not even cheap. I had a burger here and I genuinely think even Weatherspoons could do a better job. It was filled with iceberg lettuce, a dry overcooked patty, very cheap and soggy bacon and contained in a cheap white roll with no additional salad items. The chips were also definitely cheap frozen ones. Given the high standard of food available in Bristol visiting the cafe here is just a huge waste.

I'm sure they do bike stuff really well, but I know they do an awesome wedding upstairs! Great food, great service and a great party!

These guys are awesome for three main reasons:
1. They really know their stuff. Like really. They know what a bike should feel like, what you will really use it for (not what you imagine you might use it for), and how to help you pick out some wheels. I dealt with Michael and Neil, they were great.
2. They won't sell you stuff you don't need, no matter how much you want to go for 'all the gear no idea' approach. "Seriously? You won't use that. Try out the bike for a bit, and if you still want it, come back and get it, but don't waste your money. I like this approach. It makes me want to go back...
3. If you show up with a handful of oily cogs and a broken Brompton they will (if you catch them on the right day, as I did) happily fit a new part there and then, offer you somewhere to wash your oil stained hands and not chastise you too much for your sloppy servicing record. And if you need it, there's always beer and coffee upstairs. Seriously, if you have a Brompton in Bristol, these guys are the people to see.

I get the feeling this isn't just somewhere you buy a bike from, its also somewhere you drop in regularly for a little tune up, or to geek out about the best lights, computer or other little bits and bobs.
