Mulberry Divers Description
We are a SSI Dive Centre in Selsey, West Sussex. We are fortunate to have one of the best South Coast shore dives under Selsey Lifeboat Station almost on our doorstep and an excellent marine life dive at the Far Mulberry only 10 minutes away by boat. We provide Dry Suits for our students so they can be comfortable whilst learning and enjoying the marine life - we operate a Rib for local dive trips and have a well stocked shop.

Saturday 4th April should have been the first day of the 2020 Season for Mulberry Diver with the Far Mulberry and the T'pot on the schedule. Actual weather is a nice F3 ESE with some gentle waves onto the freshly scrubbed Ramp. Water temperature just below 10C which means it may already be too late to see the Lumpsuckers we normally expect in April. Quite a few of our Customers work in or support the NHS and our thoughts are with them. We're also grateful to Mike's Dive Store London who helped one of our customers who needed a Full Face Snorkelling mask at short notice.

Just finished our first remote Ecology Club session for Chichester Free School. It is great to be able to continue the great work being done by the members. We are looking particularly at Marine Ecology in our local area. We are learning about the inhabitants of our waters, their life, loves and issues they might face. Today examples of Cnidaria and Chordata.

As you might expect, with the very clear advice from the Government to only undertake essential travel, then we will not be starting to operate Mulberry Diver on the 4th April. Obviously we we can't identify a suitable date to start at the moment - we'll post an update when the time is right. Over the next few days, the April and May schedule will be archived and removed from the website. If you are feeling optimistic (!) and want to reserve spaces for (much) later in the season, please do so - however since the Dive Centre will be closed then confirmation emails will not be sent; when we do resume, we will ask those listed to confirm they still wish to dive, and then publicise any available spaces.

Diving at Selsey Shore Diving - with a week of (strong) Easterlies forecast, we would expect improvements in the visibility for the last weekend in March. We'll post updates next week to help those local divers who may be considering a salt water dip :-)
Boat Diving - Our schedule is due to start on Saturday 4th April; we'll decide next weekend whether to operate keeping such factors in mind as the Government request to minimise Travel, that any Diving incident is likely to require NHS / Coastguard / RNLI Support (our local Chamber has stopped NHS Elective treatments) and our own state of Health and the relevant Government advice.
