What we do at #MummyYoga each and every class is a consolidation of birth understanding, synchronising our breaths with what our bodies want to do. This innate understanding when practised purposefully and regularly we can let go when the time comes to birth our babies. Birth is like an elite sport event in many ways... practice brings sustainable energy to our goals, a clarity of purpose that runs deep and comes to our aid when we need it most... . . . .... #yoga #mummyyoga #birth #birthwithoutfear #birthpreparation #birthdoula #birthpartner #newborn #pregnant #pregnancy #motherhood #parenting

Please come along to our future walks... Monday showed us the power of fresh air and supportive networks can be transformational! All Welcome... pregnant mummies to be, mums with older children and even dads and grandparents (many passerby grandparents seemed rather envious of us!).

The weather forecast not as glorious for our Sling walk at the Delamere Forest tomorrow... but I still distinctly remember my first outing in our neighbourhood park the day little Layla-Rose was born... that freshness, the spring breeze, her breath and mine and her little sniffles all too crystal! My mind slowly clearing up from my ordeal of birth. Me finding breathing space... I am so amazed that this event is fully booked and despite the rain I can’t wait for the morning!!! See you all. . . #mummyyoga #keepmeclose #MMhM #delamereforest #forest #walk #babywearing #carryingmatters #postpartum #postnatal #newborn #newmums #slingwalk @ Delamere Forest

BLINK is the festival that brings together all our highs and lows of being a parent. Within that journey is addressing the issue of our Mental health. Mothers’ Mental health Matters (#MMhM) project along with Breastfeeding Friendly Chester have co-curated this weekend. We have had a fabulous opportunity to incorporate all our activities originally planned for our festival on the same weekend. This final version is a culmination of hard work done by many of you. Only a few I have been able to name, others choose to work anonymously. Thank you all. Samantha Bull, Laura Whiteside, Jasmine Wilson, Sam Martin, Amy Fox, Inspire & Rewire, Gemma Bennett Bailey, Laura Evans, Mary-Jane Barrett and all of you who shared your stories and made me move and take action.... With this launch, we begin! 😘

The Breathing for Birthing workshop has consistently been full since it's launch and this workshop is looking to be a packed yet cosy event too! Last two spaces remaining for this Saturday. If you are coming towards the end of your second trimester and beginning to think about birth options then this is the right time to enrol. At #MummyYoga we aim to involve our partners during the birth of their babies as much as possible. This workshop will help them realise the power of ...breath and mindset during your most primal hours and will give them invaluable tools to guide and keep you on track during your most testing periods. At the very least you will take home some simple yet effective stress management tips 😊. . 28th July (this Saturday)... . . .

We women have been receiving birthing wisdom knowingly and unknowingly for thousands of years. But our men have only recently become such an integral part of being present at the birth of their children. Our partners are probably the first generation or at the most a progressive second generation of parents who will embark on this amazing journey with us women. Let them not sit on the sidelines, let them not feel handicapped, let them not be pacers and second fiddles in wha...t can be the most powerful transformation into fatherhood. Come along to our Breathing for Birthing workshop this Saturday and see for yourself why our past attendees feel it was an amazing experience for their partners. This workshop goes beyond the remit of hypnobirthing and relaxation. It’s an evidence based birth preparation strategy without the weighted expectation of a certain kind of text book birth. We explore how to manage our birthing expectations as part of this workshop too. Book Now : https://mummyyoga.com/bfb/ .

Hello Everyone,
Let me start by apologising for not communicating on the Mothers Mental Health Matters project for a while now. I have been working on this whist working on MummyYoga, taking care of my kids and house and preparing to return to my day job. The hours I have on this is not proportionate to my level of passion and commitment to this project. And now as the brilliant help and support of the fantastic students has finished, its making it very hard for me to do the ...work and communicate the work as well. I had to make a choice and decided to spend time on working on the project rather than communicating about what I am doing! SORRY.
It's only now I have realised there is so much for me to update on this project that I will never finish writing and you reading :-)... So here is a comprehensive update on all Mother's Mental health Matters Project. I have also added a page which outlines the many ways you can all get involved...

You will be in the most amazing, chilled out, knowledgable hands ever.... spoil yourself. As Sam says, don’t wait till you are trying for a baby. Her massage has lots of other therapeutic values too.

Yesterday I had my first mummy yoga session since expecting my second baby. I started mummy yoga at 12 weeks when I was expecting my first and found the relaxation, calmness and confidence that I gained during this time essential to my pregnancy and birth journey. I couldn’t believe how easily I slipped back into that same frame of mind stepping through the doors 3 years later. The atmosphere created by the scents, the music and the lighting in this gorgeous characteristic building together with Rehana’s gentle and knowledgeable teaching all combined to enable me to leave exuding confidence and calmness again... I then had the best nights sleep I’ve had in months!

Wonderful - highly recommend MummyYoga.

The classes are fantastic and I attended throughout the duration of my pregnancy. Rehana is fabulous and really welcomes and supports all those who attend. I feel doing mummy yoga made a real difference to my pregnancy and labour experience and can't recommend it enough to others, thank you Rehana x

Me & my husband have recently started private lessons of mummy Yoga with Rehana. We are Absolutely loving it! The feeling & wellbeing it gives you is incredible. Know for sure we will carry on with our lessons even after bundle of joy has arrived. Rehana is the most loveliest person & her knowledge is second to none. So happy me & my husband can experience this together. Thank u

Lovely relaxing, educational class. Rehana really makes you feel welcome and comfortable. Thank you 😊

Last Christmas, I was gifted a voucher for a block of 8 antenatal yoga sessions with Rehana by my partner. I had previously participated in a couple of her classes at the beginning of my pregnancy and absolutely loved them. Unfortunately, I was unable to complete my 8 sessions as my beautiful boy arrived 11 weeks early.

My delivery was an emergency C Section at 29 weeks and wasn't the natural birth that I had hoped for.

I am now 7 weeks postpartum and can honestly say that the techniques that I had practiced during Rehana's sessions have helped and empowered me through the most stressful and chaotic time of my life.

From breathing my way through the anxiety of the delivery, gentle stretches and positions to help loosen my aches and pains to positive thinking and relaxation techniques to help clear my mind - all these skills have proven invaluable.

I can't control the circumstances but I have learnt that I can control how I can help myself and ease my anxiety during this time.

When my son is home and everything is settled, I'll look forward to booking in with Rehana once again to continue in the postnatal sessions.

I've been struggling with a bad back since our little darling arrived at the end of May. In an effort to sort myself out, I've started back with mummy yoga attending both the postnatal and the Friday sling yoga sessions with bubba in tow. The baby loves the sling yoga session and it's a lovely relaxed environment with the support and guidance from Rehana. I'm pleased to say that after a couple of weeks with Rehana's support, my back is much improved. I love the peace and the safe and friendly environment at Mummy Yoga. Thanks Rehana for being such a great class leader with your caring attention to each mum that comes along

User

I've been attending MummyYoga with Rehana since I was about 18 weeks, I'm now 30 weeks pregnant and have found the classes so helpful. Rehana is so knowledgeable. Every week my body is reset and I'm relaxed when I leave. This class is also perfect to support my Hypnobirthing practice.

User

I started attending the antenatal yoga class around 15 weeks and carried on into my third trimester. The class has been excellent (challenging and relaxing all in one) and rehana is a great teacher. Rehana makes the class extremely welcoming and gets people chatting, as a first time mum to be, this has been lovely as it has meant I have met other mums at a similar stage of pregnancy to me who I’ve been able to share my experience with. Can’t wait to try the sling yoga once baby is here 🧘‍♀️ 😊

User

I started Mummy Yoga classes at 17 weeks pregnant, and loved the fact that Rehana combines relaxation and breathing techniques with stretches and exercises to build strength. Whilst it's a relaxing hour that leaves you feeling light as a feather, you do get a challenging enough workout as well. It's the perfect balance, and I think (hope!) that regularly taking time out to be calm and connect with my body and my baby will help me have a chilled out pregnancy, an empowering birth and a relaxed baby.

User

I have to say I was a little sceptical about the benefits of Yoga, until I went to Rehana’s Postnatal class. I leave each session feeling like I have done something (and sometimes have a couple of aches to show for it the next day!) but also feeling relaxed and invigorated. Rehana not only explains how to do each move, but also why you are doing it, and her demonstrations of how it should be done are inspiring. She obviously has a passion for Yoga but also for making the entire process of pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal experience as pleasant as it should be. I had a bad experience with the birth of my son (pre-mummyyoga unfortunately!), but I am actually looking forward to being pregnant again so that I can attend Rehana’s Antenatal class!

User

I found Mummy yoga at the beginning of my pregnancy and so glad I did. Rehana's gentle and instructive guidance have given me a lot of confidence in preparing for labor, and the classes are wonderfully relaxing. They are a good workout too, which is something I worried about missing as I scaled back my gym routine during pregnancy. I'd recommend Mummy Yoga to anyone of any skill or experience with yoga at all. It's a great chance to meet other mom-to-be and prepare yourself for both delivery and motherhood itself.

User

I attended the Breathing for Birthing workshop with my husband Sam in March. To be honest we weren't quite sure what to expect from the session, Sam in particular was probably a little sceptical as to how much it would benefit us! We were pleasantly surprised though and are so glad that we went along.

Being 29 weeks pregnant, we were the couple at the earliest stage of our pregnancy within the group but it worked really well as we learned a lot by talking through our expectations, worries and experiences so far. Rehana has a wealth of knowledge and delivers the session with an honest approach which is really refreshing. She prepares you for the emotional journey ahead and draws on the importance of the birthing partner's role. The factual links to physiology, getting to know how your mind and body works and the impact small changes can make really urge you think about what to focus on during labour; something I definitely hadn't done before the workshop! Sam's opinion changed too, he came out feeling happy and with a sense of purpose, knowing what he can do to support me throughout the process.

If you get the opportunity, I would recommend attending this class - I could listen to Rehana all day! Thank you for making us both feel more prepared and much less anxious about what lies ahead. Shelly x

I attended Rehana's sling classes when my baby was small. It was such a precious way to connect, spend time and share my passion for yoga with him, and also reassured me that yoga could play a part in my new life as a Mum. So much so that I am now undertaking my own yoga teacher training. As part of this training I went back to MummyYoga to watch Rehana teach a pregnancy class. I rejoiced in seeing a class that embraced the things that can be done in pregnancy, and really focused on what would make the pregnant women feel good. During pregnancy it can be easy to live in fear or feel that you're constantly being told what to avoid or what you can't do. Rehana's class was strong and positive, sending the exact message a mum-to-be would want to hear - trust your instincts, breathe and you CAN do it.

User

I attend mummyyoga on a Friday night which I love, it is a time to relax and reflect on the week just passed. It is such a great way to get to know your breath and also stretch the places that need stretching pre birth! I then also attended the breathing class, I was 30 weeks pregnant when I did this and went in feeling nervous, however I now feel ready and more prepared for the birth. I would recommend both the classes to any pregnant ladies. I will be going back post birth too and cant wait! Rehana is a great teacher and understands what everyone is capable of and helps when needed too!

Having found the antenatal yoga sessions and the Breathing for Birthing to be very beneficial I decided to join the Keep Me Close baby sling class with Elsi. We’re both really enjoying. I’m finding the sessions a good way to get out and spend time in a wonderful, calm and friendly atmosphere. My postnatal aches and pains are eased and Elsi is always very relaxed after each session. Thank you Rehana x x

Coming onto my 5th week now at mummy yoga with Rehana. Yoga is somthing I've always said I wanted to do but never got round to. Well I'm so glad I found this class! I now look forward to Tuesday nights for my hour of pure bliss! The lavender scented rooms, lovely cosy environment and great relaxing music is highly complimented by Rehanas very soothing and knowledgeable voice. As someone who struggles to have a blank mind and focus on one thing, I honestly feel the benefits within this hour of just relaxing, concentrating on my breathing and posture, and I think my little boy can tell, it's the one time he stops wriggling about!! Thank you for the opportunity Rehana, see you next week :-)

User

Being new to yoga (and pregnancy!) I was slightly apprehensive before starting the classes about the level of experience and fitness needed, however, there was no need to be. You can follow the lesson at any level and I've found it really rewarding to notice my body getting stronger at every class. Rehana is a fantastic teacher and really puts you at ease. After struggling with backache and a stressful office job I've found the classes so relaxing, I only wish I had started earlier than 29 weeks! I hope to carry on long as possible and will definitely return to post natal classes after I've had my baby. Thank you for making pregnancy fitness so enjoyable and inspiring :)
