Munchies Sandwich Shop

Here is one of the last photos of the shop the night it all ended and one from the next morning.
It was a sad evening to say the least but in more ways than one. Obviously at the loss of a well loved and established business and the spirit of the community but here's the saddest part.
Within minutes of leaving just before midnight on January 31st and bearing in mind that there was sleet and rain, Mr Jagmeet Singh from United Stores next door had his 'helper' climb a ladder w...ith a pot of paint to totally wipe out any sign of the MUNCHIES logo's etc.
We had only gone up the road and actually sat and watched this farce while howling with laughter.
We can all appreciate this would be done eventually but to actually wait until midnight on a very cold and wet night was highly amusing, even under the circumstances.
After all his threats and failed attempts at intimidation, especially over the past year Mr Singh and his Mother, who live together in the flat above United stores finally got what they wanted.
We would like to wish Mr Jagmeet Singh and his Mother all the best for the future, after all, business seem's to have been a catalogue of failures and disasters for them over the years.
Almost 40 and still living with your mum in a little flat above a corner shop is a great example of your success over the years so we hope things get better for you both in the future.
For everyone else, please keep following our page as we have more to share over time and we'll hopefully be able to answer some of your questions regarding events leading up to the shop closing and the vile and disgusting way the landlords went about it.

MUNCHIE'S IS CLOSED FOR GOOD ...................................... Some of you will be aware of this but for all you who don't ... after a long dispute with the new landlord mr singh at united news who bought the block of shops which munchies traded from has forced us to leave the building as he wants to have a post office, so after 23yrs of business we would like to thank everyone for there support and custom over the years. we will miss all the wonderful people who came to the shop over the years and we have got loads of great memories which money can't buy, so with that said we wish everyone well and with great sadness say goodbye to all you wonderfull munchie fans xxxx
