Munchkins Village Nursery

We have hatchling, one day old chicks in our pre-school and toddler room today. The children have been fascinated with our little visitors and are showing great care and interest in them. They are learning all about how they hatched, why they need to be kept warm, what they eat, how they grow. 😊

We’ve had a little baby boom in our staff team recently and we thought we would share the lovely news of their safe arrivals. Toddler staff member, Sam gave birth to her first child, a little boy called Eli-James on the 20th Feb. Nursery Cook Keith became a dad to his first child, a baby girl called Heidi on the 9th March. Finally Deputy Manager Gezz had her little girl, Bailee-Rose (pictured) yesterday. Congratulations guys, we are all delighted for you and your beautiful perfect little additions 😍😘

It’s our nursery birthday! 🥳🎂🎉🎈 6 years ago today on Monday 4th March 2013 we opened our doors and began our incredible journey. What an amazing 6 years we have had and we have loved every bit of it. Thank you to all our parents, grandparents and children; past and present, who have been part of our nursery family. So to celebrate, the children are having a fun filled day making cupcakes, decorating banners, making party hats, singing and dancing xx

Love is in the air and the creative juices are flowing in Munchkins. The children have been busy making and decorating home made biscuits and creating wonderful cards to give to those important loved ones at home for Valentine’s Day. We hope you enjoy receiving your little gift - if it manages to get to you 😆

To celebrate Chinese New Year the Minis and Pre-school have really enjoyed being involved in making their own tea: Spring Rolls, Chicken fried rice, Chow Mein & accompanied with prawn crackers. They have also being busy making their own wall display which is a lovely Chinese dragon, paper lanterns and year of the pig pictures.

Kerry has spent the best part of an hour in Munchkins A&E. What started as a minor ailment has progressed into a catalogue of injuries. At the minute things are touch and go, but the medical team are pulling out all the stops. We’re all praying she makes a speedy recovery as she has a cut and blow tomorrow at Munchkins Salon 🙏🏻 🤕💇🏻‍♀️😂

Staff motivation, just love it! We are open and ready for the day 😂

We really love imaginative play and today at nursery the children are initiating their own learning and are using all the various sheets to create their campsite and are ‘camping out’ The communication during their role play and interaction as they play their game is very sweet.

As we close our doors today at 4pm on 2018, we wanted to say a huge thank you to all the families, relatives and friends that have been apart of this years nursery journey. It’s always a mammoth task organising and coordinating the annual Christmas Party - but we’ve done it for yet another year! Thank you to all those who came in with their child to take part in the event, we welcomed the vast majority of our children throughout the day and it was great to have such a good turnout and for all those who couldn’t be with us, Santa has left a little gift. Now all there’s left to do is to relax and enjoy the final few days before we close our doors on 2018.

Today has been the highlight of the festive season so far. Yesterday the mini’s made lots of mince pies and today a small group of pre-school children took the short walk to Park Grove care home where they then put on a little carol concert for all the residents & gave everyone a little mince pie made with love from nursery. Our welcome was so warm and the children sang beautiful and behaved wonderfully - couldn’t be prouder of their efforts, they were fabulous.

Congratulations to Gezz who has achieved 5 years of service as part of our nursery team! Gezz joined us as a nursery practitioner and then progressed to Deputy manager and has been a central part of Munchkins life. Gezz also becomes the 6th member of staff this year to reach the 5 year milestone - well done Gezz and thank you for your commitment to our nursery x

All of children within each of the nursery rooms have contributed to the lovely wall displays that have been created to celebrate the festive season. We love this time of year 🎄⛄️❄️

We are starting to get into the Christmas spirit 🎄 Nursery staff have made their own fireplace out of cardboard boxes and painted it to create a cosy lounge within the main nursery room, which the children are loving. Next week the full decorations will start going up to enhance the environment further. ☺️

Huge congratulations to Steph and Laura who have achieved 5 years service as members of our nursery team! It’s been a fabulous 5 years and they have played key roles to so many of our children within the baby & toddler rooms, so just wanted to say a little - Thank you 😘

Today Pre-school and Mini’s spent the day creating a poppy wreath for Remembrance Sunday consisting of all of their hand prints. Then they took the short walk into the village to take their wreath to St John’s Church and lay it at the memorial. We’re very proud of their little contribution to ensure future generations never forget the sacrifices of all the brave servicemen and women that have fought in conflicts to protect our freedom.

It’s unbelievably quiet in nursery today. Pre-school decided they wanted to build a giant den and all staff and children are currently within it. As its bonfire night, they asked if they could create their own pretend fire which we enhanced with fibre optic lighting and now they are all ‘camping out’

The first thing out of my son Max's mouth each morning is " am I going to my nursery today" Highly recommended as a fun friendly safe place. Not got a bad word to say :)

Our little girl absolutely loves going to Nursery and the staff here are superb! If your looking for a nursery place, we highly recommend Munchkins Village Nursery!

Our daughter has just finished four fabulous years at Munchkins. She had three amazing key workers - Charlotte, Laura and Kerry and has had great relationships with many of the other staff. She has grown into a kind, confident, happy child and we can’t thank Munchkins enough. We will miss you.

My son has been there since Munchkins opened. He has loved it there and has come on leaps and bounds. Very friendly and supportive staff. Couldn't recommend them enough! Keep up the good work Munchkins! �
