Went to Murgatroyds yet again on Saturday evening. This is by far the best place in yorkshire to have fish n chips. The food is also superbly cooked to perfection. I chose the Murgatroyds 2 course special, haddock was, as it should be....crispy batter, meaty fish and none greasy chips with mouth watering mushy peas. Desert was chocolate orange cheesecake with ice cream. The price of £16.50 included bread n butter, tea or coffee. Bargain. The waiter was efficient, polite and informative. Truly not a place to be missed for fish n chip lovers.

We used the take away not the restaurant but a really nice chippy. It was a lovely sunny day and they have lots of tables outside. In a great place from Leeds Bradford airport. Will definitely go back when in the area!

Visited today with the family �. Food is very good and we were well looked after. We will definitely be coming back soon. And we had a view of the planes taking off or landing!!! � �

Very nice Fish & Chips, you have to be hungry because you are served a very large portion. Would recommend.

The Fish & Chips are fantastic and the rest of their food is very good. It is a bit on the expensive side though. Suppose you get what you pay for.

Sharing Hot tasty fish and chips with my wife. Kids all happy sat in the Sun with their box of chips. Always a great ending to a day when over Yeadon way.

Really enjoyed our meal it was all delicious, drinks were all good including nice wine. Great service and lovely restaurant, can't wait to go back!

Passing through and seen this place, so we stopped for food. What a cracking idea that was! Best fish and chips everrrr!! Portion sizes was unbelievable we couldnt finish it all.



Top job all round

Lovely white, flakey fish in a beautiful crisp batter with chunky chips, not loads of "scrag ends" like you get in many a fish shop. PERFECT. Tha can't beat Yorkshire Fish n Chips.

I love this place lots of memories as I went there almost every weekend as a child..best fish and chips in the uk I travel all the way from preston to visit it :)

Had a lovely meal here Saturday lunch time. Got there early about 11.30 am, took my mum nearly 92 now, my wife and I. Had the Billy Murgh special, haddock, chips mushy peas and tae bread and butter. It was beautiful cooked to perfection, fluffy White Haddock, first rate.

Excellent as always! I don't eat haddock from anywhere else, any other chippy I choose cod, but your haddock is just delish!

Called in last night whilst staying across the way at Premier Inn. No booking needed just turn up and waited in the queue for a table for two. Didn’t take long till we were seated. Place was packed though no one was rushed. Chose the pensioners 3 course for a tenner. Superb value. Haddock was lovely, chips not greasy and perfect colour too. Topped off with treacle sponge and custard. Certainly will call again if we are nearby. Maybe we need one of these near Chorley..😋😋

Best Fish n chips in Yorkshire. 5 of us had a great meal at a very reasonable price. Have been many times before. Already looking forward to the next time.

If I had one request, it would be to have a normal size portion of cod & chips on the menu. I love cod by can’t finish the large one on the menu.

Lovely fish and chips , waitress very attentive. One negative good portions . But all on a very small plate . Will be going again thanks .

Beautiful fish and chips very tasty staff very pleasant and helpful very clean can definitely recommend them to my family and friends also had a very nice trifle and a lovely Latte coffee so what more would you want will be going back very soon

Looked forward to having some proper Yorkshire fish cakes has I live in the North East and there not available locally. Been a true Yorkshireman I can obtain the same in Spenimoor co Durham there they are called fish patties.

The ones at Murgatroyds are very poor quality the fish is formed and very thin whereas the ones in Spenimoor do have proper fish peices between the potatoe slices.

Will stick to Spenimoor ones in future.

Had prawns and calamari starter which was nice. Disappointed by the fish and chips, my fish had a funny taste (my husbands didn’t) and the batter tasted burnt. Service wasn’t great, had to ask twice to order and clearing the table took ages.
