This week is National Volunteers Week!
Running from the 1st to the 7th June, National Volunteers Week provides a chance for us to celebrate the fantastic contribution made by those who carry out sterling work for Lincolnshire County Council in their spare time.
We wish to thank all the volunteers at the Museum of Lincolnshire Life for their time and dedication!

Join the team today for Battlefield Archeology! Take part in WWI crafts, artefact handling and drills in the courtyard. Crafts cost £2 each and admission is free. We are open from 10:00am - 4:00pm (last admission 3:45pm).

To ensure Baby Bear has plenty of books to read we are looking for donations of children's books. If you have any spare children's books at home that you no longer need please bring them to the Museum's reception before June 19th. Any donations will be greatly received. Many thanks.

Join us at the Museum on Thursday 30th May for a Battlefield Archaeology Day!
Get creative with World War I themed crafts: make a medic's backpack, a trench telescope or a WWI railway engine! Crafts £2.00 each.
Take part in artefact handling sessions and handle actual WWI artefacts! Handling sessions are free.
... Weather permitting there will also be the opportunity to drill like a WWI soldier! This will take place at 11:30am only.
Running 10am to 3:30pm, entry to the Museum is free.

Join us this Easter Holiday for 'Through Time', a Victorian Transport and Engineering Family Day! Take part in Little Engineers crafts (£2 each) and a Transport and Engineering Tour (11am & 2pm). The event runs only on Thursday 11th April, 10:00am - 3:30pm. Free admission to the Museum.

Talk to experts from Friends of the Lincoln Tank and see a unique display of tank memorabilia, including; replica tank models, artefacts from WWI, costume and tank ephemera. Join us today for a day of fun-filled crafts and workshops with the Investigate Learning Team!
Crafts and workshops run from 10:00 - 15:30: with crafts running all day, and workshops taking place at 12:00 and 14:00.
Craft activities include making items that Victorian Explorers brought back from their travels, and The Up, Up, and Away workshops invite you to learn about the science of balloon flight, conduct experiments, and design a hot air balloon to take home!
... Crafts cost £2 and workshops cost £3 (all children must be accompanied by an adult).
Entry to the Museum is free.

Join us next weekend for a special event to commemorate the 'The Great War, 1914-1918', featuring exhibitors and experts from the Friends of the Lincoln Tank.
Displays will include model replica tanks, costume, and World War I artefacts. The Museum is also home to an original WWI tank called Daphne, and there will be a tank themed children's trail.
Admission charges apply, (entry to the Museum will not be free on these days).

Join our friends at the International Bomber Command Centre on 23rd and 24th March 2019 for a showing of The Great Escape film!
2019 sees the 75th anniversary of the remarkable mass escape of Prisoners of War from Stalag Luft III.To commemorate this historic event the IBCC's "Cinema" will open for showings of the 1963 classic - The Great Escape. Our 1940's style usherettes will be offering traditional sweets, ice creams and popcorn to munch and a bar and hot drinks will be a...vailable in the Cinema's lobby.
