Worked there for a couple of years. So many good people to work with. Great stores where you can find some awesome shit in between two piles of rubbish.

The guys who work here have to put up with a lot of morons so pay them respect, be polite and patient and they will do the same. Plenty of gems here. Don't ignore the bargain racks.

Notting Hill.

Simply my favourite record shop...I can lose hours in the Notting Hill Branch :-)

One of the best shop in London, to find amazing classic tracks and exchange :)

If it wasn't for this chain of stores I wouldn't be the music collector I am today. Back when I was a teen I went to the now extinct store in Plymouth every weekend. I'd spend hours trawling the shelves and not leaving until I'd found a bargain. Now I go to the one in B'ham where I live and Notting Hill every time I make it to London.

such a great experience, wouldn't change it for the world.

Best record shop ever. Well for my taste at least.

Been here in November, one of my favourite place in London. A very equipped store with friendly people. I will come back next month!

Been buying/selling/trading here since 2003-2004: used to be my hangover cure was to go stand in either the Soho (RIP) or Notting Hill Gate stores flipping through records until I dehydrated to the point I had to ask the staff to look after my stuff while I went to find water. Always been fair with me, to the point and no nonsense: if you sell for cash they'll give roughly 1/3 of what they'll sell it for (fair!), if you sell for exchange it's more like (1/2). Bargain basement has tonnes of good stuff in. If you think what you have is gold, fine, take the time to sell it on eBay; if you know it's a mixed bag then they'll save you a ton of time and energy for a decent price. To this day there are records I look at and am thrilled I found here. Frankly the only record shop - bar Sister Ray - I still bother popping into London to visit now Camden has nowt and most of Berwick Street/Soho has gone to the hipsters and property investors.

All genre's, and unlike the music exchange that was in Plymouth, they no the difference in genre's of dance music...lovely friendly staff...And very helpful, and they no the best pie n mash shop lol would of give a 5★ but leaving a ★ for improvement. ..BIG up lads...

OMG - I worked here in the 80's this place is still around. Is Brian still alive?

User

Would be so much better (and would surely increase sales) if they installed a listening post or two. I understand they may not want to change how they operate and have records in sleeves on the shelves for people to listen to, but they could just install a cheap laptop with headphones connected (as Phonica does - as well as decks!) so we can browse YouTube etc to check certain tunes we're interested in buying. Being told to "listen on your phone" ain't really good enough! If this is the best you can do, at least provide free wifi! This feedback is meant in a helpful spirit by the way, for your good and ours :)

Rudest customer service I've ever experienced in my life. Went to two stores to try to solve my problem and staff were condescending, rude and ignorant. They were only offering me £1 back for a £10 pair of jeans I bought the day prior! I was in a rush and didn't think of trying it on, NO REFUNDS OR EXHANGES, but apparently they're not obliged to let the customers know when buying. Only option is for them to buy it back from me for 10% of the price! If you came in with an item worth £100 they would only offer £10... Do I smell a con?! Never going back. Don't give them the time of day believe me.

Just went to this shop in Greenwich to try to sell Cds. One guy was dealing with a customer and 2 other guys were sitting behind the counter chit chatting. I waited for their attention and was given some snarky direction how what to do with my bag before the same guy went back to sit. He kept been unfriendly, laughing at me with his colleague like I was a retard not to see their ways. They told me to "fuck off" when I finally packed my bag and told them their customer service is SHIT. It really is. I told him to fuck off back of course and made sure all the other customers noticed. Hope your shop get bulldozed so you can try to get a job at Oxfam across the road. Until then, fuck off again.

I spent lots of money here because I love records. I love collecting them and playing them but this is the first shop where I ever performed a rescue mission. I saved some nice records from being left to languish in this disgusting, smelly hovel of a place. But the real problem.....my GOD the real problem was the staff. What a bunch of grade A cunts. And the guy I dealt with said to another punter that he used to work in HMV so if the manager is reading this you'll know who this ignorant, depressing twat is. FIRE HIM NOW!! He's very lucky I was heading for a flight home or I would have taken some time to school the fuckwit in manners and common decency. Or maybe just kicked him square in the bollox. Either way avoid this dirty horrible kip at all costs. And a lot of "fake" reviewing is keeping the rating high here. Well what else have the staff to do all day except sitting around in their shitty smelling rags writing lies about the cesspit they work in. Please London Council stick a demolition notice on this place. I'd rather another fucking Starbucks was there.

User

Extremely rude, dodgy and verbally aggressive staff, If you are looking to buy second hand records avoid this place like plague. A special warning: the Italian guy working upstairs is the absolute worst, I’m Italian aswell and feel ashamed of his behaviour with customers on behalf of all of Italy.
