Wonderful meal this afternoon in the restaurant. The staff were unbelievably helpful and kind, especially as we had three very young children with us, celebrating their birthdays. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Thank you for making it so special

Went to Clumber Park hotel for a spa package for my best mates hen do and can honestly say they excelled themselves!! Every member of staff from reception, catering and beauty were fantastic and made us all feel extremely welcome and accommodated a lot of our specific, fussy needs without it feeling like it was an issue. I would highly recommend this place for a function like we had. The private suite was perfect, the treatments were great but it was all topped off by staff that actually cared about us having a good time. Thank you to all at Clumber Park Hotel for your hospitality. It was a blast!! We will be back (prob need to warn the rest of guests thou next time) xx

Been here today for the Tranquil time out package with my friend and it was lovely. The staff was very helpful especially Natalie.

Everything was spaced out throughout the day so we had plenty of time before lunch and treatments. I'd definitely come again.

Beautiful place! Stayed for one night for my nephews wedding. The setting is perfect, food tasted lovely and the staff were really friendly. You really did them proud as an excellent wedding venue!

4 if us visited Clumber Park and choose the Girls Night In package for one of my best friends 30th birthdays, it was brilliant from start to finish. The spa pool could be bigger and have more than 1 jacuzzi’s outside but it didn’t put a dampener on our day.

We opted for the Tea wrap which was very relaxing.

The clumber room was a fantastic space which we chilled out in later on the night and had a bit of a slumber party.

The courtyard restaurant food was delicious as well as being reasonably priced. The breakfast and afternoon tea where also lovely.

Clumber Park is somewhere I would definitely visit again!

We had issues back in Feb when a friend and I booked and the pool heating had broken. It didn’t make the day as we had hoped for, however, the management were great about this and offered us a second date. We attended yesterday. Had a lovely day and Stacey in the beauticians corner was great at booking and organising our day, from treatments to food and drink. Thank you.

We will come again.

Lovely hotel, not many there which was even great! Spa was fab including treatments. Food was lovely, room was fab. The only 2 minor complaints was only having one pillow and the coffee served with breakfast was awful. Would defo return

User

Just back from a fab 2 nights. I am really surprised by some of the negative reviews I have read, and of course if that was your experience you have every right to be disappointed. I personally couldn’t fault my experience. Our room was lovely with a huge comfy bed. Large tv on the wall and well equipped with complementary drinks and snacks. We had breakfast and evening meals both days. The food was excellent, very well cooked and presented. Great choice of drinks ( Gin ) staff really attentive and friendly. We were happy with the spa. The pool was nice and warm, both the sauna and steam room were good and the outdoor jacuzzi was lovely. We had absolutely no complaints and will definitely be back!

Just back from a Spa Breaks booked overnight stay bought for us as a gift. At £130 for 2 people in a Superior room with robes slippers toiletries tea coffee and biscuits and full use of Spa facilities plus a lovely breakfast of every thing you could want and a £25 per person dinner voucher it represented such good value for money. Add in very comfortable bedrooms and beds and extremely friendly and efficient young staff and it was all together a great stay Thank you!

We have children and do not get much chance to get away without them and, having organised babysitters we booked the Clumber Park hotel for its Spar facilities especially the pool (as we are both swimmers) for the night of the 9th Feb 2018.

We arrived at the hotel and were welcomed by lovely, friendly staff and a beautiful hotel. Unfortunately, on entering the room we were overwhelmed by the heat and I switched off the radiator and opened the windows immediately.

We then found someones dirty boxer shorts in the bottom of the wardrobe (which made me question the cleanness of the room) there was also dried on toothpaste on the sink in the bathroom.

We grabbed our costumes and went down to the spar hoping that the room temperature would drop while we were gone.

Once at the spar we were informed by a member of staff that the pool heater had broken and that the pool was at a lower than normal temperature and that it was more like a leisure centre pool temperature. The pool was empty so we gave it a go (we are both swimmers and our children competition swim and the pool was the same temperature as a 50m pool not a leisure centre pool). If we had been informed of this on booking in we would not have stayed as we were at the hotel because of the pool.

We left the spar quite disappointed.

We got back to the room, which was still hot and, in the morning spoke to the gentleman at the desk about the problems we had and asked to speak to the manager as we would have liked some sort of good will gesture by way of apology.

We were then introduced to Rajesh, the most argent and obnoxious person I have ever been unfortunate enough to meet. His response to our complaint that we should have been informed of the fault in the spar and particularly the pool on check in was that the pool was fine! He refused to listen and over talked us and said that the fault was with the air conditioning and not the pool heater. When we asked him to write down what the fault was he shouted "what are you, lawyers".

He continued to be rude and obnoxious and extremely argumentative.

I have never been spoken to like this and I do not expect it in the leisure industry.

A member of the staff said that it was their last day that day and they were leaving because of that.

We have since complained in writing to head office and chased said complaint numerous time to no avail.

Not great business when your sister has a wedding booked so she books out the Bridal Suite and x10 rooms to only find out yesterday that “they never received the booking” although we have a booking confirmation in clear black and white.

Later learnt that they’ve booked a wedding in for that night, so it’s obvious that they’ve taken complete disregard to my sisters booking and just allowed the wedding to take priority.

Not really good customer service to not even give a courtesy call to let us know that you’ve cancelled our booking.

Who ever wedding it is that night - I hope you feel comfy in those beds knowing that you’ve taken it from another beautiful couple who should have been sharing that bed that very night.

Shame on you, Clumber Park Hotel.

My review is specifically about afternoon tea at Normanton Inn. We have just had a very disappointing experience that was only saved from no stars by the two very polite and helpful ladies who served us. As a coeliac I do have a tricky time finding places to have afternoon tea, but it is possible. My husband spoke to staff when making our booking and no indication was given that providing a gluten free option would be difficult. The usual message of "we can cater for all dietary requirements" was given and so we booked. All I can say is that, even if my food had been nice, charging the same price for what I got compared to the usual offering would be unfair. My husband had sandwiches, quiche, scones, 2 types of cake and 3 little sweet pastries. I had very dry and unpleasant sandwiches, a sub-par scone and one that I sent back as it was identical to the one on my husband's plate and almost certainly not gluten free (it was also covered in fluff). I had 2 pieces of brownie that I didn't try as I was so underwhelmed with it all. I'm sorry to say that the hotel has lost repeat business as our reason for visiting was to scout out a venue for a relative's celebration tea.

I have since read a lot of bad reviews but equally some really good ones so I don't know what's going on with the hotel. I should also say that the place we ate was really not suitable for afternoon tea in ambience. It was (in my husband's words) "like a Wetherspoons" and was the opposite of cosy and comfy. Perhaps the Courtyard Restaurant might have been better but we couldn't get booked there.

I hate giving bad reveiws but a) I want to warn fellow coeliacs and b) I want to give a general word of advice to the leisure industry: stop treating people who have different dietary requirements like second-class citizens and either try to offer them comparable experiences or simply don't bother. I have been to enough places who do the former to convince me that's it's entirely do-able and where it isn't I'd like to have my expectations managed so I don't repeatedly find myself disappointed.

User

Absolutely disappointed, there was a powercut which led for the electric to be off for nearly 2hours which led to no hot water for a shower no hot breakfast and no tea or coffee, receptionist promised some kid off refund, rung up next day to get back some kind of a refund for the room and breakfast which i payed £20 for and received nothing, for such a high profile chain this is awful
