Quiet calming soothing music is useless, it's the suddenness of the bangs out of nowhere that scares them. And give them a dang cuddle! Ignore any nonsense you read about not encouraging the behaviour, because it's an instinct not a learned behaviour. If they come to you for comfort that's what they need 🐕💕

As the posters are flying around Facebook again, I'd better announce that it is OF COURSE a Hot Dog Policy week for us here at Mutts & Mops. Garden walkies, water, snoozing and biscuits :D

Not wanting to have a go at anyone, but at least twice a month I get tagged in a 'please rehome this dog' picture or asked directly if I can rehome a dog. Or do I know anyone who can? I'm so glad people think of me as the 'go to' dog lady and am always willing and honoured to offer my assistance on any dog situation. But rehoming - sorry. I don't have a list of people waiting for an unwanted dog. I don't know anyone, the answer is always, always no. The rescue charities and rehoming centres are full of dogs looking for homes that aren't forthcoming. How can I possibly help? Please don't ask me, it just makes me feel awful.
I can however ask around and hook you up with landlords in Southampton and Salisbury who don't mind dogs. But even that is a stretch.
Dogs are for life ffs.

We are flexible, accommodating hardworking scruffbags and we aren't afraid to get stuck in and get our hands really dirty. If you're looking for a maid, call a company that supplies maids. We are not maids. If you want a well-turned out, posh person to politely shuffle around your immaculate house fluffing pillows and polishing things, you're really barking up the wrong tree with Mutts & Mops. 😂🤣

Changed my voicemail message today. The gist - I can NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE. My hands are always tied - driving, dog leads, rubber gloves, keys, a gajillion cloths, sprays, and hoovers. Or I'm in a dancing class, or in our underground band practice room! I can usually text/Facebook/Whatsapp between jobs, sitting in the van. I can return calls then too, but only if the dogs are quiet. 😃😄😁😂
If you would like to have a phone chat, the best time to get me is after 9pm Monday & Tu...esday or after 3pm any other day. If I don't answer then I probably don't have signal either... hahaha. Perks of living in the New Forest. If you drop me a text I will try my best to call you back as soon as I can. Please definitely do this if it's urgent. Sometimes smart phones are not so smart and will take a while to register & inform me I've missed a call.

Our Hot Dog Day Policy! When the temperature is about 18 degrees (depending on breeze and brightness of sunshine) in the morning, we class the day as a Hot Dog Day. This means that all dogs are picked up in the morning, taken for walkies in shady parks or woodlands, and delivered straight back home. If we know our dogs like swimming we'll find a place with some lovely water and have a dunk. A bowl of drinking water is available in our van at all times and our jerrycan is refi...lled daily so it will be cool. When it's above 23 degrees (again depending on breeze and brightness), we won't go in the van at all, but we stick to gentle local lead walks, or maybe we'll have a game or a water fight in the garden! Our dogs and their safety comes first and foremost, even if it means we're late for our cleaning customers on Hot Dog Days. When dogs are returned home, they are assessed for signs of heatstroke and never left to suffer alone. We will refresh their water bowls and make sure they're comfy before we leave. We've had a lot of belly soaking going on this week! Enjoy your summer everyone! (Picture is my border colleague after a dunk at Riverside Park)

What this lady doesn't know about dogs isn't worth knowing, she has a fantastic relationship with dogs (and animals) and always gives a 5 star service.

Equally she gives 100% with her cleaning service...you won't be disappointed with this company.
