The Council House is one of Nottingham's most iconic buildings. Its imposing exterior is complemented by a sumptuous, sometimes opulent interior. The first impression, as you enter the foyer through bronze doors, sets the tone with the staircase, columns and floors crafted from the finest Italian marble. Inlaid in the floor is a mosaic of the city's coat of arms.

With the most picturesque backdrops you could wish for for your special day, one of the building's most striking features is the great dome, visible inside and out, rises 200ft above ground level and can be seen for miles.

On either side of the grand steps leading to the front entrance are two stone lions affectionately known as Leo and Oscar which have become etched into psyche of local people who may have used them as a meeting point, you may have even met your sweetheart there.
