What a cracking couple of weekend's racing its been for us here at Front Runner!
Ali just missed out on a top 10, coming 11th overall at Bala Triathlon; absolutely gazumping his olympic distance PB coming home in 01:57:46. One more race for him in the lead up to the big one that is IRONMAN Wales in September
Typically, not to be outdone; Steve came 5th at yesterday's Scafell Sky Race in a stacked field. 40km of racing up (and down) some brutal terrain! Want to see Steve in pa...in? head over to the Scafell Sky Race fb page and check out the video of him climbing out of Langdale.
Skip has taken some time away from racing and spent most of his weekends asleep in the shade.

We’ll be combining our weekly Monday Night Run (MNR) with a demo event from Polar on Monday 30th July.
Demo events are perhaps the best way to try out a piece of kit without the need to buy it first! Come along, speak to Ali & the Polar representative. We’ll talk you through, each of the different units and what makes them special and hopefully work out which best suits your needs.
We’ll have a range of watches for you to try….... > Polar M200 > Polar M430
We will also be offering a 20% off offer on all Polar products on the night only!
Our regular MNRs are a 5km run on the roads or through the parks taking between 30-35 minutes. They are a sociable run where we have a chat and bob along. We do have a mixed ability group but everyone knows to re group regularly and not charge off.
This event is FREE. There is no cost to try the watches out or join us on the run - The only thing we ask is that you sign a disclaimer form for health and safety reasons. You are more than welcome to come along if you don't want to try a watch, they're there in case you do :)
Please meet at Front Runner between 6-6.20pm. The run will leave as close to 6.30pm as possible. We should be back in store just after 7pm.
You’re more than welcome to leave clothes and belongings in store (it will be locked whilst we’re out).

We’ll have a range of shoes for you to try….... > Mach - Road shoe >Clifton 5 - Road shoe > Arahi 2 - Road shoe > Torrent - Trail shoe (Brand new!) > Challenger ATR 4 - Trail shoe
They’ll be 2 runs, one will be our standard MNR and the other a trail version of this.

A brilliant new crowdfunding project to fund a new fence at the top of Limb Valley meaning happy cattle, and all walkers, runners & families are safe on this scenic trail.
There have been a vast number of incidents at the top of the Limb Valley over the past few years, runners and walkers alike have been hospitalised in some rather serious incidents involving the cattle in the area. The land owner has kindl...y allowed a large stretch of fencing to be erected to separate the footpath from the rest of the field; which will eradicate any issues for human, canine and bovine alike!
Wether you're a fell/trail runner that uses the area frequently, a roadie that uses the area in events like the ROUND Sheffield Run or simply like to walk your dog in the area from time to time; I think that we can all agree that this will make a real difference!

Thanks for your help, after assessing my run in a number of pairs, we agreed on the Hoka's, they are wonderful and the pain I had been getting regularly in my ankle and occasionally in my knees has vanished. They are the most expensive footwear I have ever bought, but worth every penny!

Stumbled across the shop on a recent mini break to Sheffield in March. Have returned several times since as we are so impressed by everything that the shops offers but particularly the service. No hard sell just straightforward advice tailored to the customer. I have had a pair of Brooks shoes which are wonderfully comfortable and prove the benefit of having your feet measured correctly and trying different brands and styles on in a shop rather than on line.

My wife adds; Hi everything I have bought from Frontrunner has been used and proved to be a great benefit including two pairs of trainers; La Sportiva Mutant which make me fly and New Balance wider fit which won me the final day of a two week 88 mile challenge having helped a very sore toe. Thanks to Steve for knowing his stuff!

I want to big up the service from Front Runner on Sharrowvale Road. Yes, they may not be the cheapest but twice now I have taken back faulty pairs of Brooks Cascadia 10 trail shoes. Both times there has been a no quibble swap. The first time I got a replacement pair. When they failed, I took them back and got these as an instant replacement, no hassle or questions asked, just a straight exchange for the newest model. You don't get this service online. I rely on Front Runner for all my trainers and kit - these guys are experts (and runners themselves)! I trust their advice and they are really thorough when it comes to guidance on shoes. I have a lot of ankle troubles, but with their helps and properly fitting shoes, things are really on the up :) I have no hesitations at all in recommending them to anyone.

I always dread buying new running trainers, but Steve is so knowledgeable and takes his time to ensure they're right for you, making it a pleasure not a chore. Very happy with my new trainers, thank you!

Needed help on selecting a new pair of trainers, tried on 3 pairs and a little treadmill test for them all. Very good knowledge of all the stock and what maybe causing my injuries plus which shoes would help with this. Walked out very satisfied with my purchase!

I am new running, and came in not really knowing anything about what shoes I needed, after a short conversation explaining what I needed Ali, told me he would have the perfect shoes in the following week, so i returned to try the Solomon speedcross 4, which have been the perfect shoes for what I needed! Thanks Ali!

After trying on various makes and sizes, and having my running style assessed, I was very pleased with my purchase of Brooks Ghost 9 running shoes. Also received some handy advice on stretching and technique. I’d thoroughly recommend Front Runner to local runners and will definitely be buying from here again!

They talked through all the different aspects of their range, and tips on how to choose the right shoe for me - as a complete novice I found this incredibly helpful to inform my decision making and was grateful for so much of their time, considering I was only looking.



Went back in a few weeks later after deciding it was a trail shoe I wanted and they got out several for me to try - watched how I ran on the treadmill, talked through with me how they felt etc. Very happy with the pair I bought (Salomon S-Lab SG) and grateful for the expertise.

Excellent service. I'm fairly new to running and wanted my first pair of "proper" running shoes. Spent a good half hour with me measuring my feet, trying on multiple pairs and giving feedback on each one to allow me to find the best fit. Would absolutely recommend them!
