Nash Lakes are delighted to announce the opening of our new fishery near Royston in Cambridgeshire.
The two lakes on the site Kingfisher and Wood Lake will be run on a day ticket basis, booked entirely through the website.
Kingfisher and Wood Lakes have both remained unfished for several years, giving that exciting unknown quantity to the fishing in both venues. Mature and beautifully situated in rural surroundings they both offer hand picked carp plus scaley originals on fisheries purpose created for the modern carp angler.

Kingfisher Lake
Extensively developed over 18 months Kingfisher Lake on the Royston Complex offers parking behind your swim, the chance to fish for hand picked carp and the added element of the unknown. Kingfisher had an original stock of unknown quantity and size, boosted with 200 additional carp, fish already caught to 38 lb during test fishing. Sightings of still uncaught fish add an exciting twist. We’re waiting for you to tell us what else is in there!

The lake, their topography and how to catch them
Intensive efforts have been made to make Kingfisher as angler friendly as possible, with landscaping, tree work and snag removal. Add parking behind or close to every swim and it’s a very easy venue to fish. Depths vary from 6 to 15 feet with a uniform bottom that prevents fish holding up in specific areas. The shape of the venue is like a frying pan, with a large basin at one end tapering into a narrow parallel section. Carp are quick to follow the wind, so don’t dismiss the narrow section, carp can often be stacked up there. This is truly a margin water where the carp love to patrol tight to the bank.
Wood Lake
The larger of the two lakes at Royston with 16 well spaced swims, many of which can be used as double swims. Wood Lake offers more intimate fishing, with plenty of features in all the swims and deep margins with extensive cover making it ideal for stalking and close range work. Out in the lake are a number of significant features with depths down to 25 feet in places with plateaux just a few feet below the surface.
Wood Lake has been stocked with over 200 hand picked carp on top of the unknown number of dark, heavily scaled originals. Numerous sightings over the 18 month development of the fishery suggest several 30s and a possible 40 lb mirror in Wood Lake that are yet to make an appearance! Test fishing has produced original scaley warriors up to 25 lb and a stocked mirror at 32 lb.

A chalk pit in mature surroundings with numerous specimen trees, Wood Lake offers everything from standard behind the rods action to real eyeball to eyeball opportunities for those who can keep quiet and like to get up close and personal. Quality boilies and pellets are the perfect starting point for action but ignore zigs and floaters at your peril. Fish well and multiple catches are on the cards.

You can see the amount of work that's already gone into the place it's quite serene and will only get better with time.
These 2 lakes are absolutely fantastic nearly as good as the staff who work there ie Brian Matt les and candy many thanks had a great 48 hours
Superb fishery, stunning scaley carp in well set out lakes set in the heart of the beautiful Cambs countryside. The swims are perfect and theres plenty of room and features to fish on both lakes. Doubles, twenties, thirties and the odd forty ... what more can an angler wish for!!
Stunning venue with lots of character & stunning fish, the work that has been put in to this place is unreal a real gem of the Cambridgeshire countryside
Stunning lakes, spent 24hrs there mid week having cracking 17lb 4 common.
Helpful Ballifs and some of the friendliest people you’d meet on a lake.
Be returning in the near future for some more action.
Quick overnighter last night, nothing came or but a lovely first time there. Hope to come back soon
Just come bk from 24 hour didn’t have any fish but OMG what a lake and I love that it is peaceful staff were really friendly giving tips etc
I've just got home from a social wkend and what a wkend it was the place is stunning the pegs are very clean and the fish are stunners gaz is doing a fantastic job of running the lakes and everyone I have met there have been helpful and top lads especially cap he's my number 1 � get yourselves booked on I can't wait to get back there
I love this place.. spent a fair bit of time there in and out of the water... looking forward to more time fishing there in the future x
Hi Nash lakes , just had my debut 24 hour session , I fished badges hole lovely peg with some great features. It was hard going with know fish out that day , all the bailiffs were very helpful in tips how to fish the place �, great swims been dug out with bark chipped down well looked after . Looking forward to returning very soon , regards Simon price
Had my first session yesterday, stunning venue, stunning carp. Had a really nice mirror at 19.10lb at nearly 1am.
Sean (or Shaun or whichever way he spells it), the weekend bailiff is fantastic! Happy to help with any questions and point you in the right direction in whatever swim you've chosen.

Great secure venue, went in May/June for a 4 night session and had 7 out biggest 18lb, although not big, they were quality fish. Met some nice people, including James who works at JKL tackle shop, bailiffs were friendly and helpful. Pegs were clean, tidy and had a layer of bark, so if it rained you wouldn't get muddy. Back on 23rd July for another 4 nights hopefully catch a big one, cant wait, regards Darryl (Outdoor Antics)

Fished kingfisher for the first time this week what a lovely complex you feel very secure all locked in cars parked behind the peg. Also swims all wood chipped nice and easy for the pegs and big cut out doubles for a social. We saw plenty of activity crashing and my friend landing a lovely 19lb common with big shoulders we both
will definitely be returning. �
First visit with my son .. clean ,secure , very friendly staff and other anglers ...park behind most pegs and the fish are perfect ...

First time there, on wood lake, did 48 hours and had 2 mirrors at 19 & 23lb during cold and very windy conditions, excellent pegs and swims, and would like to thank Nick the bailiff for making me welcome and his helpful advice. Hopefully be back in late Feb.
