About National Animal Welfare Trust Cornwall

National Animal Welfare Trust rescue centre based in Hayle, Cornwall, rehoming around 300 dogs and cats a year.

National Animal Welfare Trust Cornwall Description

The National Animal Welfare Trust's centre in Cornwall came about as a result of the inspiring work of Molly Wyatt. Molly worked hard over many years to provide a rescue and rehoming service in Cornwall, and shortly before her death in 1996 she asked if NAWT would be willing to carry on her work. We agreed to and in 1997, we took over financial and organisational responsibility for the work in Cornwall.

We rehome around 300 cats and dogs at our Hayle centre every year. Every animal has been individually assessed and cared for by our experienced and dedicated staff. All animals are vet-checked, neutered, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped before being rehomed.

We also have a local charity shop in Hayle and further afield at Falmouth and can accept donations for the shops directly at the centre.

Take on the #TwoPointSixChallenge for NAWT Cornwall to help save homeless pets.
The Covid-19 pandemic has hit charities hard with cancellations of vital fundraising events resulting in huge financial losses.
Sunday the 26th April should be the date of the London Marathon, the world’s biggest one day annual fundraising event, which raised £66.4 million for charities in 2019! So this year on that same date, UK charities are uniting to ask you to take on a new kind of challeng...e.
So what exactly is the challenge?
The 2.6 Challenge can be any activity you like (as long as it follows Government guidelines of course) related to the number 2.6 or 26 ‚Äď from running 2.6 miles (even better with your dog) to making 26 animal noises in 26 seconds! ūüėÜ Then set up your fundraising page here ‚≠źÔłŹ https://bit.ly/3coimEu ‚≠źÔłŹ and ask your friends to sponsor you.
For challenge inspiration check out our blog post ūüĎČ https://www.nawt.org.uk/blog/take-twopoin tsixchallenge-nawt
Lastly don‚Äôt forget to tag us and use the hashtag #TwoPointSixChallenge in your challenge video- we‚Äôre very excited to see how you‚Äôre taking part! ūüéäūüéČ
