Fantastic location overlooking the beach. Parking is available in Crastor. There is approximately a mile walk (easy) from Crastor Harbour to the Castle. Although under the guardianship of English Heritage, National Trust members get free entry on production of membership cards.

Great day out if you hit the cliffs and take food - there's no shops to get food

Dubstanburgh Castle can be reached by many routes but we went via Craster (use the loo in the visitor centre before you set off as there are none at the Castle!) The views walking to and from are lovely and the Castle itself is very well positioned, both for any attacks and for its views! Had a lovely day.

Beautiful ruin, and a nice walk to get there. However, the site felt a little light on information once inside, unless you purchase a guide book. Great views from the top of the tower, though the staircase was fairly congested for a weekday in September. Shame on the original builders for not preempting the domestic tourist boom of the 21st Century ;-)

A nice pleasant stroll along the coastline to the castle ruins, parking is OK "spaces are very limited" expect the usual parking fee.
Note: to enter the castle you've to pay yet another fee "unless national trust member" facilities are pretty limited. However the views & extended beach walk certainly make up for it...

Lovely walk to the castle, but extremely windy. There tends to be a lot of dead sea creatures on the shore so stay off the rocks! Also make sure to go to the toilet as there are no public toilets there! (Lots of bushes).

Majestic. Beautiful location and surroundings make the long trek worth while. Truly superb 😊

A nice long walk up to the castle, once you're there, you can wander around the interior of the ruined castle walls, and can climb a staircase to see the view from the top of the walls. Take a picnic, as you can't beat the views and there's plenty of room for you to sit and eat.

Be warned, it's a long walk from the car park, and there's no toilet facilities in the castle itself.

I love this place, it's dog friendly, it's full of history and on a sunny day the walk from either Embleton or Craster is heavenly.
