Please i urge you DO NOT USE THEM!

They promise you the van, take the money, then continually delay the arrival time. When you call up to query, the people who you speak to refuse to give you their names. A day of work taken off for nothing, waste of time and money.
Will make a report to the Trading Standards Agency.

WARNING: DO NOT USE! DO NOT USE! this company are con artists. We reserved a van. They couldn't confirm they would be on time. within a couple of minutes we cancelled. They were very friendly and said it was no problem. A week later I saw on my bank account they had taken 120.00! When I rang them they were rude and refused to refund even though we had nothing from them. They threatened to take more money! and said their staff wouldn't answer my calls again! Very bad company fraudulently conning people. Look at other reviews. All bad. DON'T GIVE THEM ANY PAYMENT DETAILS THEY WILL TAKE WHATEVER THEY LIKE.

Poor. 1 days van hire - arrived 1hr30 late. Rang customer services 6 times to chase and was told someone would call with an update. Nobody ever rang back. Europcar van arrived and all their paper work had an incorrect start time to my confirmation email. Nationwide blamed it on Europcar. And getting the van collected was an even bigger headache. It's a sham operation that sounds as if customer services is staffed by 5-6 people who really don't care because they've already got your money.

Terrible customer service. Best avoided for your peace of mind. This company is a broker, for other rental companies that provide the service.
Upon paying for the vehicle I rented, no contract was issued so I had no understanding of the relationship between the actual vehicle hire company and the broker. The vehicle arrived late with a bald tyre, no spare, and head lights that didn't work. It was then picked up 7 days later than scheduled. Nationwide hire did nothing to resolve the issues.

THE WORST! STAY AWAY! I originally reached out to them because they said both on the website and over the phone that I would have unlimited mileage. They also clearly said that I can drive to Prague and back over the weekend with no additional charges. But then after the trip they took without my consent an extra 418 GBP. Apparently, I went over the good usage policy which is only 100 miles per day. Ridiculous! No one would discuss with me the issue. FALSE ADVERTISING! NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! 1 STAR IS TOO GENEROUS - I WANTED TO GIVE THEM 0!

Terrible company
We had a van breakdown on the motorway & did not receive a replacement until 24 hours later so had to book accomodation which they are refusing to reimburse. Van has now been sitting outside our London offices for 5 days as they have not picked it up. No one on their end has any clue what is happening. I think this company may be run by 6 year olds

Unfortunately I have to agree with all the other bad reviews for Nationwide we paid the full balance of £1700 two weeks later they just went and helped themselves to £1200 from iur bank account this was before the rental even started. So we already had a problem on our hands they had £2900 of ours before we even was due to go on holiday. Eventually we got our money back. And we did receive our rental vehicle on time it was also collected the right time. But the run up to it all was extremely stressful. so overall I wouldn't recommend nationwide at all.

his company is a pure scam DO NOT USE, they stole £700 pounds out of my account and took me to ring my own bank to start a investigation against them and they still wouldn't refund me, I didn't look at reviews please do it's all true. Marcella is useless never does anything but she's in the phone all day ( yeah right ) 100% fraudsters never hire from them, this company need to go bust, trading standards need to know about this place.

Attempted to deliver the incorrect van (the day before) then on the day said they didn't have a van for us, two hours after it was supposed to have been delivered. After 3 weeks of chasing them for a refund, I finally suggested to them that I may want to go to trading standards, within 10 minutes had a full refund!! I definitely wouldn't use them!!

*DON'T USE. Shocking. This company stood by whilst one of their suppliers took a huge amount of money from us for exaggerated repairs. I showed evidence of pictures and alternative quotes that showed the rental company had over charged us by £2000 (yes, 2K!), but they continue to use that hire company to this day. Just remember that these people are a middle party to your rental - they say there is a £1000 excess with the booking but this means absolutely nothing. If something happens it all comes down to the small print in your agreement with the hire company themselves (not nationwide). They will just tell you that it's 'not their problem'. Disappointing. Shocking actually - considering legal action.

Before you make a booking with this company stop and read what I and many others have to say about why we gave this a one star.

Unfortunately I couldn't give this company a zero star. Massively screwed over by this company on the day of my house move. Why bother giving a date and time of the vehicle's availability when you can't agree to it. They have to check their suppliers to see if a vehicle can be made available and they don't even know when themselves.

Massively disappointed. Avoid at all cost. Go direct to a vehicle hire company instead of this one.

Went through all the faff of taking my details, my licence, my NI number, confimed date of hire, drop off and delivery address AND took a card payment…..and then got a call 30 minutes later to say no vehicle is available. Why the heck doesn’t your system allow you to tell me there are no vehicles available upfront which will save time and effort on both our parts? Your website still said all trucks were available on the day required when clearly they weren't

Be advised that Nationwide are a broker so take your order then try and locate a vehicle from a 3rd party to hire on your behalf.

Very friendly when you call to book but it goes downhill very fast from there.

Total joke of a company. Avoid at all costs as trust me, it will cost you to use this company.

Amazingly bad service and customer service from this company. They are brokers who supply vans from other companies. It seems like they are in cahoots with these other van hire companies as we have been hit with outrageous fuel charges up to 6 months after our bookings. Our bank says we have no recourse as they are within their rights to take money from our account. daylight robbery.

We had one horrorshow of a booking in which the wrong van was delivered, then a replacement was promised (which didn't arrive) then we were charged the full hire for both vehicles!

Having used this company for all our business rentals for a year or so you'd think they might want to show some customer service and at least listen to our woes, but no. They were rude and dismissive from the start, and completely ignored our complaints. Its shocking how little regard they have for their customers.

I just hope that people see these reviews before using this company to save themselves the grief and expense that we were put through.

Only out to fleece their customers.... AVOID

Many thanks to the staff that made the deal easy and fast. We rented a van for 2 days. It was a 9 setter ford, No complaints about the van because the A/C is all working. We didn't even saw a scratch from the van. Great Deals.
