Nazarene Theological College - Manchester Description

Our Vision Statement

As GodŌĆÖs holy people we aspire to be a learning community reflecting the love of God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Dedicated to excellence in theological education, we intentionally foster character formation within contexts that are both practical and reflective.

Our Values

Relationships

We commit ourselves to loving relationships with God, one another and the world. Expressed in a communal life of worship, learning and ministry, we foster good communication and healthy relationships characterised by compassion, grace, justice, mercy and mutual accountability. The community is global and diverse, encompassing people of many nations, cultures and denominations. In Christ-Likeness we are servant-hearted, transformed by the Spirit who empowers us to live out our faith wherever we are found.

Excellence

We strive for excellence in all aspects of our college life: our worship and service, our academic teaching, scholarship and research, our governance, communication and administration and our practice of ministry and mission. Our hope is to enable every person within our community to realise their potential and become the women and men they are created to be.

Learning

We are committed to acquire godly wisdom, knowledge and experience as we creatively research, reflect, and develop together. We strive to be creative in our modes and methods of delivering education and learning, professional in our research and practice and passionate about nurturing a desire for life-long learning and professional development.

Three of our German Master's students, Robert, Alina and Daniel, are thriving in a growing ministry amongst Muslim-background people in the Frankfurt area. The Upper Room Frankfurt came from the Upper Room Glasgow which was set up by NTC lecturer Wes White! ¤æÅ¤æÅ¤æÅ

Having personal information collected and analysed is part of everyday life ŌĆō for everyone, not only a suspect few.
Surveillance makes possible government, retail, healthcare, education in fact almost all dimensions of society. This lecture discusses how Christians might respond using the Bible and theological insights.
Dr Eric Stoddart (Lecturer in Practical Theology, University of St Andrews) main research interests lie in surveillance and in digital technologies more gener...ally ŌĆō all from a practical theological perspective. He is curious about the faith which our societies place in technologies as supposed solutions to relationship challenges across a whole host of levels and in a multitude of contexts.
This a free public lecture.

Where I attended (I was 21) from Sep 1975 - Dec 1976. I graduated on 28 May 1977 with a Certificate of Lay Training. (Of course, the College was The British Isles Nazarene College (BINC) in those days.) An ace time. Fond memories and a great educational foundation to build upon. I attended the Batley Church of the Nazarene at the time :-)

Oh, these great institutions of old. Never had the privileged to attend but how I wish! But I'm doing second best and that is to collect English Bibles and take them to very poor schools in parts of Southern-Africa. Children in many African countries are taught in English only, but sadly few have a Bible, especially children Bibles. Please check my fb Gwayiriver Trust and give a word of encouragement Bless you.

I think it is a great college with good leadership. It is close to downtown Manchester where there is always something to do. Everyone matters and that makes a difference, and the great professors matter too, especially when needing to learn and earn a degree.

User

I had a lovely time at my literary event!

Awesome place, awesome people. Awesome place to learn.
