best restaurant south of the thames... accidentally discovered it about a year ago. go for the platter, it never disappoints. book ahead asevery time i go it's packed out

Vegetarian, almost vegan, meal last night for two of us. Plantain starter with amazing hot dipping sauce, mixed bean roti and tofu curry with rice and peas, all cooked beautifully and so so tasty. Great service and atmosphere. Definitely coming back!

The salt fish fritters and the dip - yum,, the oxtail n de curry scrumptious;the food came quickly and the service was so caring. Had my leftovers tonight for dinner - as it was a bellyful ha....highly recommended!!!!!

The customer service was amazing- I went for my birthday with a large party and we all felt so accommodated and welcomed. The food was so delicious and as a vegan I was so happy to see all the choice available that was still so full of flavour - 100% going back.

I've been coming to negril for a few years so I'm a bit late to write a review. However last nights meal was exceptional! Everything was on point. We had no booking, got a table 10mins before the kitchen shut yet the food was so fresh and delicious and came out very quickly! I love negrils laid back vibe and great authentic Jamaican cuisine and I always receive the best customer service. Love this place it's just fantastic! Oh and the rum punch ���

Food to die for. From the best jerk ribs ever to the fantastic platters. Don't get me started on the rum punch let's just say when you have 1 you will want them to keep on coming.

Been here a few times and the food fails to disappoint. I went there last night with a large group, and despite not having booked in advance, was accommodated warmly. The staff are lovely and the vibes are friendly. Would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away from the crowds at Brixton village

Always the default place to take my guests when having distant family around, for breakfast, lunch or a dinner! Lovely food and great atmosphere with friendly staff.

I've been to Nigril restaurant a few years back this was my first visit in a while the food was excellent, service a little slow but I was expecting this for a Friday evening! We just about manage to get a table as the place was jam pack & it's not a large place. But the food was on point Rum punch was the link!! Will be back real soon 😋

Had the saltfish and ackee with plantain starter and ital stew. Was tasty but the stew was more like a soup but still good. Worth noting that the food took a while to come and wasn't served at the same time but nothing to cry about

Apart from waiting aged to be served the food was very nice , drinks a bit pricey though....£7 for a small rum punch!

The food was lovely really really enjoyed everything we ordered even the drinks were lovely BUT the service was shocking. waiting half hour for a drink, asking 3 times if it's coming! We got there at 8 ordered at 8.30 and was 10pm when food arrived!!!! I wouldn't go back for that reason,which is a shame.

The outside area has no lighting either so you eat in the dark and can't see your food they should maybe get some candles or something or a outdoor light for each corner!

They had the cheek to charge 10quid service charge I was going to refuse to pay it but just wanted to get out of there by this point and couldn't be bothered with an argument!

Limited Fish dish options. The food was too salty. Not for those with blood pressure problems.

Half decent food, but whatever good taste the food left, was marred by the quality of service. On asking for water we were met with rolled eyes and frowns. My group of four were left having to get cutlery from another table ten minutes after asking. This after the food had arrived. Need I explain the interminable wait for the food. I understand they were short of staff, however short of manners.



Well let's get to the food. My jerk roti was flavoursome and well spiced and the roti was ok. But altogether even with a bit of iceberg lettuce, dry.



Oxtail and rice and peas decent. A world of bones whose saving grace was that the tasty sauce meant that they had to be sucked in search of the marrow.



The vegeburger. Plain but my dining partner enjoyed it. But a condiment would have been a saving grace in this graceless place.



My vegan friend had the veg curry plantain and festivals. Maybe the best choice but a powdery plantain can't be saved.



In the end as one does pay extra for service, it would be best to get a take away where they might throw in a dab of coleslaw, chilli or even a smile.
