Still to this day, the ‘Nellie Stagles School of Theatre Dance’ remains one of the largest and most successful schools in South Yorkshire.
Nellie Stagles School Of Theatre Dance Description
“Nellie Stagles” is almost an institution and we have been part of the Towns cultural life since December 1936, when at the tender age of 17 Miss Stagles opened her dancing school.
A young and slightly nervous Nellie opened the doors of her school in January 1937, at the Empire Ballroom, Hexthorpe. Up until her demise in 2007 (at the age of 87), her passion and desire for art of dance remained unchanged.
Still to this day, the ‘Nellie Stagles School of Theatre Dance’ remains one of the largest and most successful schools in South Yorkshire and Doncasters premier school of dance with hundreds of dedicated pupils attending dancing classes every week, now with five studios throughout Doncaster. The teachers and pupils alike work extremely hard, balancing hard work and dedication with a fun and caring learning environment. It is this balance that ensures we continue with our 100% success rate in all our I. D. T. A and R. A. D examinations.

We are all extremely proud of our pupil, Lauren Powell who has successfully auditioned for a place on the CAT programme (Centre for Advanced Training) at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds.
This is a great achievement and a fantastic opportunity for her.

*** TOWN STUDIO ***
As you know, we’re having to move our Town Studio, now that the Carr House Wesley Church is closing.
The Friday night classes will be run from:
... Alder Grove Methodist Church, Alder Grove, Balby, Doncaster, DN4 8RF
However, Saturday RAD Ballet Classes will operate from a NEW studio, located in the town centre. This new studio is owned by Doncaster Central Development Trust and is called C- View.

Some of you may know this building as the old art college building, behind St. George’s church and opposite B&M?
To access the studio, you need to proceed to the large red door and ring the bell marked ‘Dance Studio’ where Miss Kathryn will allow entry.
As a reminder, our first day of dancing at the new Alder Grove Methodist Church will be Friday 3rd May 2019.
Our first day of dancing at Church View will be Saturday 4th May 2019
BOTH opening when we return from our Easter break.

Hi everyone, I’ve just spoken to Miss Aggie and I’m pleased to announce that her surgery went well.
I know that lots of people have been asking how long she will be off and asking me to send their love and best wishes
... Everything looks like it went “to plan” and fingers crossed, with lots of rest and healing Miss Aggie should be back with us in a couple of weeks.
She has asked me to say a huge THANK YOU for all the messages and said that she’s missing everyone at dancing so much!
I’m sure everyone at the school joins me in wishing Miss Aggie a speedy recovery and I know that we all cannot wait to see her back at dancing soon. xxx

For everyone who has ordered a ticket, these are being labelled up TOMORROW night and will be delivered and handed out at each studio NEXT WEEK - from Monday onwards.
... It is vital that you collect your ticket next week! If you know that you won’t be at dancing next week, then please make sure that someone collects your ticket, on your behalf.
All pupils will need their ticket to gain entrance to the party, as tickets CANNOT be purchased on the night (due to the correct number of prizes, drinks, glow sticks, buffet numbers etc being pre ordered).
If you STILL haven’t purchased your ticket, you technically have until 2pm tomorrow to get your order slips and £3 to Miss Kathryn at our Town Studio.
