This man is Peter Carl Goldmark, he is someone we should all know and celebrate. However until recently I knew nothing about him, and I bet you also have no idea. What a hero. He developed the vinyl 33rpm Long Playing disc for Columbia Records in the mid 1940's. It was introduced in 1948 by Columbia. All hail the LP and Mr Goldmark!! He later developed the first video cassette system in the 1960s, but we'd have to wait another two decades for the VHS/BetaMax wars.

We have all grown up with this voice and loved the warm tones, but how many know who he is? The voice Baloo the bear in Disney's Jungle Book is Phil Harris. Here is one of his own LPs, and it sounds like Baloo himself had recorded it. Loving it.

I know you're all mad busy planning your Christmas Day celebrations and looking for that thing that will top off the atmosphere and put everybody in the festive mood. Well here is the answer. Yes The Leyland Vehicles Christmas LP! A double joy for all truck lovers!! For the old enough to remember you will now realise all those strikes weren't for more pay but because work simply got in the way of rehearsals and gigging
