People often think that getting a tan will dry up their spots.
Though getting a tan might keep you from noticing those bright red spots, spending time in the sun can actually make your skin woes worse.
Sebaceous glands are influenced by, among other things, heat and humidity, lying out in the sun or in a tanning booth may actually cause the skin to become oilier. More oil equals more breakouts.

I know we ALL know we shouldn’t squeeze spots - but why? Though it seems like popping a spot gets all the grossness out and will speed along you skin's recovery, that's actually not the case.
Even though it feels really good to release, a lot of it just goes in deeper. When it goes in deeper, it causes more inflammation that can lead to scarring and spread under the skin. That's why you'll get another one a few days later close to the first one.

Generally, the level of active ingredients in medical products is much higher – both the number of active ingredients used and the concentrations thereof, making the products much more effective. Ever wondered the difference is between getting a fake tan and a real tan?
Well, as we all know - getting a real tan increases our risk of skin cancer by damaging the DNA of our skin cells. Our melanocyte cells try and protect us by firing off pigment (aka a tan)
With fake tan, most of the products on the market have an active ingredient called dihydroxyacetone, or DHA, which reacts with the amino acids in the top layer of your skin to form melanoidins. Notice this is not mel...anin.
Melanoidins are a different type of pigment that are also formed during the Maillard reaction — they’re why meat turns brown when you cook it. Sunless tanners are browning you like a steak on the grill. (You’re welcome for that visual image 😜)
This is why fake tanning is far better for us than real tanning.

Remember to check the expiry date on your sunscreens.
Like any other skincare product, sunscreen does expire, and if you're using it past the expiration date, you won’t be getting the full benefits.
Also, if the contents of your bottle have a weird smell, color, or consistency, you'll want to toss it.

SPF in makeup isn’t enough
