Sometimes it is difficult to look beyond current circumstances and that’s when having someone independent to talk to can be valuable.

Relationship breakdowns, bereavement and loss, divorce, depression and addictions are just a few of the common life problems that many of us will face which could potentially disrupt our normal ability to function.

Counselling enables a person to share their innermost thoughts and feelings in a confidential environment where they will be listened to attentively, respected and accepted without judgement.

The rapport between client and counsellor is a crucial element of the work, and it is important to establish a bond of trust, as there may be times when it is necessary to challenge assumptions held by the client in their interests.

It’s also possible that one might feel worse before feeling better, as topics or events that have hitherto been avoided are faced.

Whilst it may be tempting to stop, ‘sticking with it'’ can lead to much being achieved.

It happens at the your pace and rather than making suggestions or ‘instructing’ you on what is needed, I present options and alternative perspectives on situations, believing that with support, you will make the right choice for you.

Change is often frightening, even if it is what you ultimately want and I will be there alongside you until you are ready to step out confidently.

I will treat you as an individual and tailor the work specifically to your needs.
