Newcastle University Cricket Club

Welcome to the Official Page of Newcastle University Cricket Club.

We have 2 competitive Mens sides, and 1 Ladies side that compete in BUCS leagues in the summer. We also have a 3rd XI which is used to give players experience, and provide a more social game of cricket in the summer. Most games are on a Wednesday, unless fixtures need to be rearranged.

Indoor matches occur October- April, whilst Outdoor matches begin April and run through to June

Summer matches are played mainly on Wednesdays with some Sundays

We have a keen and vibrant scoial environment, with socials every other Wednesday in winter with club days spread throughout the year. Socials aim to intergrate new members into the club and maintain the friendly atmostphere and team spirit.


Winter Training

We train at the Newcastle Cricket Centre, South Northumberland Cricket Club, in Gosforth.

1st /2nd XI Squad - Saturday 11: 30am-1: 00pm

3rd XI Squad & Ladies - Saturday 10: 00am-11: 30am

Summer

We play our BUCS cricket on a Wednesday. After a good showing at the back end of the 13 /14 academic year, we go again, aiming for promotion, in 14 /15.

Pre-Requisites for new members

Mens teams prefer previous experience (school, club, county etc), whilst our ladies squad cater for both experienced cricketers, and beginners.
