Newham Recorder Description

The Newham Recorder was established in 1968, just three years after the old county boroughs of East Ham and West Ham were brought together to form the London Borough of Newham.

Before that , since the early 1900’s there was the old East Ham Recorder, which was a slip edition of sister paper the Ilford Recorder.

The paper in its current form provides a comprehensive weekly round-up of all the news, views and issues affecting residents in and around the borough. There are several pages of sport and an entertainment and listings supplement called Lifestyle.

The borough's local football club is West Ham United FC, who are members of the Barclays Premier League.

Newham was the main London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games host borough, with Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park based in Stratford.
