Newland Hall Fishery

About Newland Hall Fishery

The four fishing lakes at Newlands total approximately 10 acres. They are all very well managed, very tidy and are heavily stocked. There is ample close by parking, toilets and drinking water.

Newland Hall Fishery Description

The Brook Lake is pegged for 50. It is heavily stocked with common and mirror carp up to 30lb, roach and tench. The lake is ideal for carp, match or pleasure fishing.

The Moat Lake is pegged for 30. It is very heavily stocked with common and mirror carp and roach. The average size of fish is smaller than the Brook Lake, which makes it perfect for both match and pleasure fishing. Match winning weights regularly exceed 300lb (see angling press).

The Park Lake is pegged for 15. It is stocked to a similar density to the Moat Lake with a high density of carp and roach, and therefore is perfect for pleasure fishing and small matches.

The Osiers Lake is a specialist carp water with only 10 named and carefully positioned swims. With common and mirror carp from 15Ib to 35Ib it is ideal for the more “serious” carper. The lake is available on a day /night ticket basis. No booking required, as with the other lakes, the bailiff will collect the money on the bank. It is also available to book for private group sessions with exclusive use for up to 10 anglers for up to 72 hours. This will guarantee total privacy and exclusivity.

Please contact Maxine on 01245 231010 for details.

The Moat Lake, Brook Lake and Park Lake are also bookable for matches. We do not book individual swims for day and night tickets; this is operated on a first come first served basis.

We’ve been working hard on the swims, trying to make sure that if it rains, you might get wet, but you and your kit won’t get too muddy….. and …. The lakes are fishing reasonably well. www.newlandhallfishery.co.uk (01245 231010 – Office Hours)

This place has improved 10 fold in the last five years, good friendly runs water. With a good head of high doubles and a low chance of blanking it's worth a try.

The water is so pure

The fish love my lure

The staff are very mature

My love for this place will always endure

Regularly fish here, recently brought a new rod bag and forgot to put in the pole and clip for the net, the lads at the rig offered us use of there own for the rest of the day and a discount price on a new one because we are regulars. A great days fishing in general!

Lovely lake. Regularly fish Brooke lake, well maintained and clean.

Plenty of fish to pull out as the lake is well stocked. Would recommend.

I've been coming here for about 16 years. Had some lovely fish from Brook lake up to 25lbs. I've had 4 PBs over the years. Used to be a member of ossiers before it went day ticket, had some lovely 20s. People moan about the weed in there, deal with it or fish somewhere else I say! Glad they've done some work on the facilities. Bailiffs over the years have varied in quality to be honest but my only real complaint about the place is all the nods that fish it. If you can learn to ignore the piss heads, stoners and nods with pop up tents 14 foot rods and size 2 hooks, there's some good fishing to be had and just about every method works well if you know what you're doing.

User

Great lake, always a pleasure coming down to fish =) bailiff is a top guy and always nice to talk to. Had loads of good sessions and caught many fish. 5* from me.

User

Fished here a few times and its a great place to fish and chill out. Staff are welcoming and give advice (if you need it) about the lakes ect.Clean and great swims. Caught some decent size carp. Can't wait to be back. Cheers

User

Fished brook lake Tuesday been fishing it on and off for 25 years it’s a good local day ticket water just a shame some anglers still think it’s ok to leave litter in the swims going back Friday for another little session

Also check out the tackle shop

User

Fantastic place to be fished here over 100 times good quality and quantity of fish beautiful soundings nice balifs good choice of swims with plenty of room

User

Excellent place with a lot of fish!!! Since day one the meet and greet from staff was excellent and cannot fault anyone there. The place is amazing and looked after well, the only negative comment that I have is a toilet facility as it is not very clean and there is never any soap. Overall, I think this is an amazing place!

User

Doing a 48 hour session must of had about 70 carp from 6-20lbs definitely the place to bag up on millions of carp amazing lakes, great runs and excellent hospitality I could do about 10 weeks on the brook lake and never get bored.

User

An excellent lake with the most beautiful dark common and mirror carp that I have ever caught. The staff are helpful and friendly which makes a change from most day ticket venues! I always look forward to my sessions at Newlands as I know I can relax. Also if I've forgotten anything there is a tackle shop that sells bait and all tackle essentials which has helped me out a couple of times as the prices a very cheap! It's very handy that hot food is cooked on site and they deliver to your swim which saves having to bring the rods in. Overall I've been very impressed!

Some of the wild life there have got line wrapped around there necks. A baby geese had a hook in its leg due to a so called fishermen not keeping a eye on his line whilst fishing of the top thepoor thing will loose its leg if not sorted. So all you fishermen who fish hete clean up after you wild fowl in pain or worse being killed by what you leave behind is not on .

OSIERS LAKE

I have to be honest the walk to the lake was a long long way the water is crystal clear and with the lake not being very wide it means that you don't stand much hope if their are 6 people on the lake as the fish spook. If you do hook a carp you have to pull in a ton of weed with it, we also had at least 6 Canadian geese and I don't know how many ducks diving down on our baits as the max depth is 6 feet it is harsh but you are running a carp lake or a bird sanctuary I was up half the night with birds either fighting or diving on my baits and running into my lines. The trees had been cut down and half the branches are still in the water and theirs still a lot of big branches that need cutting for safety reasons we were told to take our rubbish with us and we did but their was rubbish all over the place and we got charged £30.00 for 24hrs this is typical of modern carp lakes in the U.K. Get a hole in the ground put a couple of thirty in it and charge a fortune for it.

OSIERS LAKE

8 of us just spent 48 hours on Osiers (well 36 as the fish suddenly started spawning on the last day).

Though there are some cracking carp in the lake (we saw plenty), the amount of weed in the lake and bankside foliage made it almost impossible to get anywhere near the fish. Absolutely no chance whatsoever of getting a take on bottom baits due to the weed, though we did have 3 very nice carp off the top. The fish in the lake are absolutely cracking condition, all very dark in colour, fin perfect and very hard fighting. The layout of the lake is nice and I personally like that the water is clear and the fish are easy to spot. The lake has some real potential but it's a shame that it's not nearly as well maintained as the other lakes on the estate, we didn't once see a bailiff (not even to check our ticket or booking) and had to turn away several parties of anglers hoping to get onto the lake. It was nice to be left to our own devices but felt it very uncomfortable that we were left to advise other people that the lake was booked which did lead to some minor confrontation as there was very little to information to indicate that the lake was fully booked. There was a very thick coating of blossom and leaves covering much of the lake and the only clear patch we could find was a sunken Island between swims 2 and 7 which was about 18 inches deep. Swims 1 and 8 were almost completely unfishable due to the floating debris and overhanging trees. A little work and attention (clear some of the overhang, dredge the weed, perhaps dig out a few deeper spots, tidy the swims a bit and maybe add another dozen or so decent sized carp) would make this a very peaceful tranquil and productive little venue. I would come back for another session but not until some effort has been put in to maintain the lake and bring it up to the standard you would expect from a carp fishery.

The polished turd of all fisheries!

Take a spare spool and you'll easily fill it up from all the discarded line thats impregnated into the ground. If you know somebody that collects beer bottle lids, theres plenty in the ground to keep them digging whilst your fishing in peoples dish water.

Be aware! Unless your driving a monster truck, drive in carefully as you'll rip the sump off your car when entering the so called trench like carpark!!!
