Nextgen Scientists

About Nextgen Scientists

NextGen Scientists is a student led project which aims to inspire the next generation of young scientists.

Nextgen Scientists Description

Being mainly Vet Students, as children we were all passionate about science and believe it is important to encourage that passion in young children today.
We create and deliver science based activities to local school children, at Sutton Bonington Campus or local schools.

We are looking for students who enjoy creating activities based on their knowledge and who want to volunteer to engage with younger scientists.
As a NextGen Scientist volunteer you will be able to find a role that suits you. The project will allow you to participate in teaching, schools liaison, widening participation, community outreach, and activity design. The NextGen Scientist Project enables you to shape activities to match your individual interests and skillset.
Being a NextGen Scientist Volunteer is extremely rewarding and you will develop many highly transferable skills. Here are just some of the great skills you will be sure to develop: planning and organisation; teamwork and collaboration; leadership; and communication.
