There was a good piece on BBC Five Live Investigate's yesterday about enhancing palliative care provision for children with life-limiting illnesses, including a case study from Liverpool about how we're working with the hospice sector, and individual families, to continuously improve there bespoke packages of care.
However, one thing that was incorrectly implied during the show is that there could be a risk to funding for this type of care in the future.
And we want to reassure all families, that we are absolutely committed to continuing to support these children, and there is absolutely NO risk to our continued funding of these services to patients and families here in Liverpool.

The number of people in Liverpool being admitted to hospital due to stroke has been rising by 1% a year. This figure has now dramatically slowed to 0.1%

Today is World Lung Day 2018! Did you know that Liverpool has one of the highest mortality rates for lung cancer in England? It is also estimated that there are around 6000 people living with undiagnosed COPD in the city.
