Antibiotic resistance is a growing concern. Hand washing helps to prevent the spread of germs. Antibiotics don't cure viral infections like colds, flu, or bronchitis. But, hand washing stops the spread of germs #InfectionPreventionWeek

We have issued new advice to support young families with common healthcare problems.
Sarah from Chelmsford, is mum to two young children, one of whom she has had to take to A&E with Bronchiolitis, because she didn’t have clear advice and felt a sense of panic. She said:
“These new materials are really clear with a traffic light system - making it easy to know what to do. As parents we often need information from trusted sources to give us the confidence to manage our children...’s health at home. If I’d known what to look for I could have spotted the signs of illness earlier and prevented it getting to the point where my son needed emergency treatment.”

Hands are easily contaminated with faecal bacteria [poo] when going to the toilet and this can be easily spread on to other things you touch, including food. Wash your hands after going to the toilet and before handling food #InfectionPreventionWeek http://bit.ly/2RSJt12

It's flu jab day here at the CCG. Over 78 members of staff registered to have their jab. Have you had yours?

The flu jab will help protect both you and your baby. There is good evidence that pregnant women have a higher chance of developing complications if they get flu, particularly in the later stages of pregnancy such as bronchitis, a chest infection that can develop into pneumonia.
Contact your midwife or GP to find out where you can get the flu vaccine. It's a good idea to get vaccinated as soon as possible. http://bit.ly/2NEqdAS
