Best restaurant in Bolton 😍

What a gem! Hubbie and I were new to the area and thanks to a brilliant review on another site we thought we'd give it a go. Food was superb. Decor was so quaint and service was with a smile and a chat. We will definitely be back!

We went last night with friends to celebrate my husband's 50'th birthday. Everything about the night was amazing. Food 10/10, staff 10/10, atmosphere 10/10. We took a birthday cake earlier in the day and the staff brought it out and all sang to him. We had an amazing night.

We travel over 30 miles to come to this restaurant with our friends and the food is always excellent. Well cooked, very tasty indeed, plenty of it and so many choices! Keep up the good work. We'll be back again soon!

Took my husband for a surprise 70th birthday celebration. A table for eleven is never easy, but the service was fantastic, the food was absolutely gorgeous and no pressure to vacate the table. All of us enjoyed everything that was put in front of us...and the early bird menu was really good value. Thank you to all the staff....I would definitely recommend.

Such an excellent dining experience, in fact I'd award it 6 stars of I could! The food was to die for. I had the ribeye steak which was so tender, succulent and cooked to perfection - possibly one of the best I've ever had ... and the service was spot on despite it being a busy Sunday evening. The cost wasn't cheap but you should expect to pay more at a first class restaurant like this. Looking forward to another visit. Thanks Nick for an unforgettable dining experience.

Nicks is always 5 star with a good selection of starters fish meat or vegan The mains are excellent great Fish selection and superb specials top that off with homemade deserts a good bottle of wine and a cosy atmosphere 5 star service Well done

Nicks has long been our favourite restaurant. It’s small and friendly but most importantly the food is fabulous. Due to ill health we hadn’t been for a while but my goodness our meal on Saturday night was absolutely delicious. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough, a must try xx

Last minute booking,I’m sure we only got in because we wanted to dine early,but Nicks just get better,we both had fish as mains ,but his specials board both starters and mains has you drooling over what to have,top chef,loads of choice and imagination in his menus and a really genuine nice man

Just wow .... was introduced to this hidden gem last night and the food was to die for. Never eaten steak so tender and cooked to perfection. The service was amazing with all staff with smiles on their faces.. shows a happy place to work that does. Will return defo next time we are in town

I went in for Christmas dinner with a family friend and it was the first time back in for years. Pleasingly, its excellent reputation is still very much justified going off this showing. The traditional turkey dinner was superb, with very tasty stuffing, flavoursome pigs in blankets, and turkey so tender that it fell apart with even the lightest touch of a fork. Nick clearly shares my views on cooking vegetables, namely that they should be al dente and not flogged to mushy oblivion.



If there's anything minor to worry about, it's the slightly odd collection of random chairs in the décor. When you're reduced to looking for stuff like that as a negative, then you know the chef and the waiting staff have done their jobs well.



Looking forward to sampling a steak here at the next possible opportunity. It will be more a matter of weeks, not years.

First visit for my friends and I. Our taxi was very late so we missed the pre 7pm market menu by minutes! The food we all had was delicious though. The place is quite small but has a nice atmosphere. Service was good. We will be returning!

Fantastic food, we went as a party of six on a Saturday night and the service was faultless.

This was my first time dining at Nicks after hearing so much about the restaurant over recent years. The mussels on the specials board were delicious and the rack of lamb didn't disappoint! Other members of the party had the T Bone steak which was an unbelievable portion size and tasted incredible. I would highly recommend!
