Nidderdale Llamas: Llama And Alpaca Trekking In Nidderdale, Yorkshire

What an amazing day! A great experience being introduced to all the llamas and alpacas and then walking them in beautiful countryside. The owners and staff are so attentive and helpful and they really care for the animals too.

What a fantastic day me my other half and 2 boys had, the staff were lovely and so knowledgable on the Llamas and Alpacas.. so highly recommend this place, such a different and fun day out for the family.. Thank you to everyone, including Ike the Llama and Ant the Alpaca we had the pleasure of walking.

We did a llama trek with Jamie and Dennis on Sunday and absolutely loved it. Expectations were high due to reading such good reviews but they were exceed. It was lovely to hear from Suzanne all about their llamas/alpacas and then being specifically paired up with your llama. My one recommendation would be to wear wellies!! We wore hiking boots but wellies would have been much more suitable! Highly recommended this lovely experience.

Visited for a family experience today for a birthday treat for my llama mad 9 year old and her friend, and it did not disappoint. Staff were amazing, sharing such interesting facts about the llamas and alpacas, and the trek round the farm was wonderful. The stars were Chester and Gary, such gentle and cuddly animals, but alas...they wouldn't fit in the car! ;-) We will be back! Thank you!!!

Visited Saturday as a Valentine’s Day treat and wasn’t disappointed. The staff clearly love these guys and it all adds to the experience. Noodle was a star, handsome and knows it. The description of lazy teenager suits him. Thanks guys, we will be back xx

Totally brilliant! Warm welcoming friendly...both staff and llamas!! Had the best time here today. No long lists of ‘can’t do’s’ just easy fun relaxing time with animals and the land. Ladies who looked after us were absolutely lovely but of course it’s the llamas and alpacas that steal your heart. Funny quirky even tempered animals, we had loopy Tobie and the crazy Rufus...completely in love with them both �! Only drawback was not being able to take them home with us....cannot wait to go back, get your teens off their phones and head out here....best afternoon ever!! xx

This experience exceeded my already very high expectations! The owners understand their animals so well and treat them like family. They know each one's personality traits and little quirks. I never thought I would speed date llamas and find such a good match!



Bolly was a perfect gentleman, he was calm, happy and didn't seem to mind being shared by two people.



The trek was beautiful and I love how you bond with your animal during the visit. They are all so well cared for and clearly adored by everyone who works with them.

We opted to have a llama each and were matched with Jamie and Yogi who turned out to be perfect matches. The weather was soggy and cold but we have to say we harldly noticed as we were smitten with our new friends. Looking forward to returning soon

My friend Laura has always been obsessed with Llamas so this has been on our bucket list for a while. We had the most brilliant time with the Llamas and Alapacas, even got to see one gobsmacked � The handlers were great at explaining all about the animals, and guiding us on the walks. I would absolutely recommend to others

My Dad, my two daughters (8 &11) and I have just returned from the most fantastic afternoon here. Jess, our hostess, was amazing she told us all about the Llama's and Alpaca's that lived their fabulous lives here and brought some out for us to have a stroke and a snuggle with. She then explained all their personalities and decided which was best matched with us. We took Chester the Llama and Gary the Alpaca and set off on our walk. Nothing was too much trouble at all for Jess and she answered all the daft questions I asked �Absolutely amazing experience for us all, book it NOW you need a Llama/Alpaca walk on your bucket list.

Huge thank you to Jess and all the team for leaving us with brilliant memories that my girls will talk about for a long time to come. Till next time. �

Magical experience, loved every minute

This is an amazing experience, lovely helpful and knowledgeable staff we had Charlotte for our trek and she was fantastic. The Llamas are incredible such beautiful animals with such sweet personalities we had Tobie for our trek and I fell in love what a lovely boy. I love the fact you get time to be introduced to alpacas and llamas at a meet and greet and get photos with each one and you learn about these animals and then you get paired up with the right llama for you. Then we went on our trek with beautiful scenery which was amazing the llamas were so good ours was a bit cheeky trying to eat lots of greenery along the way but that was part of the fun and made us all laugh we stopped off at a few places for the llamas to eat juicy grass at dedicated eating spots which the llamas loved. When we headed back to the farm we went to the gate to greet some other llamas and had photo opportunities and then we went back to the llama shed where we were offered a drink and a cake to finish the experience. The Llamas are so well cared for and a credit to the staff. A very enjoyable day and a must do for any llama lover.

I visited today with my husband and we walked with Yogi and Armani. Both boys were perfect gentlemen and behaved beautifully. We had a great time and would thoroughly recommend to anyone. Thanks for showing us a great time.

I have been today with my granddaughter what a lovely experience worth every penny. The two ladies leading us were full of information and so enthusiastic. The owner came to meet us after the walk and was really interested in what we thought. Fantastic would recommend it to anyone.

I learned such a lot about our gentle companions,each with a different quirky personality and all much adored which was lovely to see. This is a fantastic family experience but if you're a solo trekker it's equally brilliant as you will quickly bond with your llama/alpaca companion and I promise your heart,like mine,will soar!

Had the best day here yesterday for my birthday, the ladies were amazing but I totally fell in love with my llama Kevin ��, we will definitely be back to do a half/full day trek : ) ...great day

This is our fourth visit to Nidderdale Llamas and we have never been disappointed. Suzanne and all the staff are lovely, very friendly and know their llamas and alpacas very well. They all have their unique personalities and Suzanne carries out 'speed llama dating' to match up the llamas to their human for the day. We will be returning later in the year to do our first full day trek with these lovely animals :) xx
