We've enjoyed the summer and it looks like our visitors have too. We're delighted with a score of 4.9 out of 5 over 62 reviews.
Three new arrivals at Ninebanks. Welcome to Hattie (a hen with "Hattitude"), Speckledy (Pauline's favourite) and ... any suggestions for the white one? Hopefully they should lay more eggs than the other 9, who have been taking it in turns to lay the daily egg!
The Coxon family and friends plus support crew - ready for another sunny day walking on Isaac's Tea Trail!
A heavenly experience just 7 miles from Ninebanks Sunday 12th August http://www.northpennines.org.uk/…/perse id-meteor-shower-ki…/ Lie back in your deck chair and enjoy the show! Kicking off with folk music, and kids activities (including rocket launching) the evening will build up to the main event with projected astronomical images, drop-in space-themed activities and much, much more. From ten onwards the Perseid Meteor Shower should result in 60 to 70 shooting stars per hour.
We're looking forward to seeing Large Outdoors back at Ninebanks. Always a lovely group of people.
Isaac was born in Mohope and Ninebanks Youth Hostel makes a great overnight stop along this 36 mile walk
It was great to have this group of young people at Ninebanks and hope to see them all back here sometime soon.
Yay! Another 100% Health & Safety Audit.
we're looking forward to trying the new menu at the Crown in Catton
Its good when people drop by... this is Jim Armstrong who first stayed here in 1953 as a young lad when the hostel was only six years old. Part of a small group of youngsters who took the bus out of Blaydon into the North Pennines and walked round several hostels; Ninebanks, the old Alston, Langdon Beck, Dirt Pot, Allendale/Catton.
Today is World Curlew Day Everyday is Curlew Day at Ninebanks.
Spring is taking its time to arrive this year but it must now be time to make plans and where better than a rural retreat at Ninebanks
We first went to the Ninebanks YH in 1995 and will be there again in a few weeks. We love the place, it has been one of our second homes in England for many years.
Just what we needed after about 8 days of wild camping!! The luxury of hot showers and a drying room. And the best collection of books too.
Fantastic to have the whole place for Isabel's hen weekend! Such a gorgeous location and the pizza was amazing too.
