Went here 9.30 am for breakfast lovely place clean and has a great feeling. The young lady who's served us was very polite and very attentive. We ordered toast and then granola fruit compote and yoghurt which was delicious my husband finished as nice big bowl. Also ordered homemade baked beans on toast with egg once again delicious and hot . At first we thought this place was quite expensive as £5.50 for granola and £7.50 for beans and egg on toast ! However sometimes quality over quantity is better and this time the food was amazing and we I'll definitely be going back and taking friends.

User

The food was amazing. We had roast beef. Absolutely delicious. We had to order in a rush but our fault as it was nearly closing kitchen time. One of the best meals out there for a Sunday.

User

Such a great welcome. Very quiet we turned up with our dog and sat in the courtyard. It was quiet but nothing was too much trouble, service excellent and food delicious! Had chicken wings, squid and superfood salad washed down with a beer....really really good and will be back!!!!

User

Outstanding food, great cocktails and wine, staff friendly, good music though just a notch too loud. Thoroughly recommended.

User

No 5 Bridge Street is a fantastic place with good food and a great atmosphere. It's one of my favourite places to take visitors when they come to Winchester, guaranteed a good night.

User

Lovely bar and restaurant. We were a party of 14 on Friday night seated in the private dining area. We opted for the grazing menu and had a constant flow of superb food over the course of the evening. The service was excellent all evening and I would thoroughly recommend No. 5 Bridge Street and will definitely be returning.

User

First time in Britain, 1st authentic British pub and it didn't disappoint! Had a proper lunch time meal of roasted pheasant with AMAZING duck confit croquettes as a starter. Beautiful atmosphere and great service. Just one of the many reasons I fell in love with Winchester.

User

Fabulous breakfasts today. Delicious and beautiful food and coffee. Polite and kind staff. Puppy allowed in courtyard garden and given snacks and water. Thank you very much. Highly recommended xx

User

Came in yesterday to sample the Gins, were not disappointed , also had the fish finger sandwich which was so tasty with fries, very reasonably priced, the staff were very friendly to us, will definitely be going back very soon!

User

Awesome bar, great service and tasty menu. Live music every Friday night too which makes this place the perfect spot to kick start the weekend!

User

Spent a lovely valentines meal at the bistro. Excellent menu created for the special day with good choice. Enjoyed a well portioned 3 course meal. £35 per person for 3 courses, could have been cheaper or with complimentary bottle of wine included. Charged for water which added to the the bill unfortunately. Excellent service, welcoming staff and relaxed atmosphere. Location is great on the main high street close to other bars and hotels. Would certainly return!

User

Lovely meal at this very pleasant restaurant! Staff were extremely helpful and food was equally as good!

User

Like most places in winchester the drinks are overpriced but I cannot fault the staff at this place. You are always greeted with a smile and your always made to feel welcome. The live entrainment is always brilliant. Worth a watch. Definetly a place to visit if you live in winchester or just passing.

User

Great food and drinks. We came down from London to visit family member and had a very nice lunch as good as one would expect in a Bistro in Later in London plus very helpful friendly staff.

User

Staff seem friendly on arrival for our lunch, but as a chef when I I asked about the Welsh rarebit I was told "it's just melted cheese". WRONG!! LOL

And be warned! If you order the pulled pork burger don't expect a burger with pulled pork but pulled pork in a roll. Am I being picky? Maybe a little but I also think artistic license can be taken a little too far.

The local Hampshire burger went down very nicely but the pulled pork "burger" had some questionable gritty bites to it, so much so I couldn't finish it.

On a more positive note whilst I wait for my Brulee, the draught cider was very good, the coffee was the perfect balance of sweet and bitterness and the staff have been extremely friendly without being intrusive. That is until the final of our 3 waiters who was very passive aggressive.

Finally the Brulee was under flavoured the ice cream was over powering and the biscotti was bland.

In conclusion, come if you fancy a gamble.

User

Room was small but comfortable. Breakfast was great! The pub downstairs was fun with delicious cocktails and great wine. The staff were all lovely and very attentive.

User

We booked after this place was recommended . I won’t bother again! Table for six was booked for my birthday for 7:45pm. We arrived promptly and ordered . New menu but the waitress was u able to guide us as to what some of the ingredients were.... she didn’t know and had to ask the chef! We asked if the cous cous could be substituted for a cauliflower cheese side... no! Came back the answer from the kitchen/ chef . We waited for nearly an hour for our food to arrive. The pork arrived raw! And was sent back and the second piece was practically cremated! The sides arrived as we were half way through our meal ... and one of our party’s order was simply forgotten! We complained and it arrived after the rest of us had eaten. Not a great first experience!! We did complain and received an apology and some discount but the damage was already done!! I had read such good reviews .... but such a shame the chef let the place down!!!

User

The food was ok but the meal came out rather disjointed one small dish at a time to share between three people with long pauses between .Not a typical tapas meal where all the dishes are on the table . So the first tiny bowl would come out the three would eat a morsel each then a large pause til the next bowl not ideal. The food wasn't hot. At least they had a gluten free menu for the fourth member . Not over inspiring however. Worth the cost ? Probably not

User

Friendly welcome then had to order my own drink as the waiter was pre occupied by a couple of pretty girls. Then had to venture to the bar to order food as I had been forgotten about. The girls continued to gain his attention and had their order taken.

The next time I saw him was to clear my plate away.

Food was good but the service in the harvester the night prior was 5 star compared to this.
